Any way you slice it a broken back is nothing to take lightly, especially in the nfl.

The mets first baseman had a fracture in his back from april and he still hasnt come back

I think Dak will struggle somewhat during the regular season but what works in his favor is that amazing offensive line that will give him plenty of time to throw. Whether he can read regular season defenses well enough to not make costly mistakes remains to be seen.

I love the dude's attitude. He's humble yet confident. I am definitely rooting for the guy.

They still need to add a quality backup. I've heard Sanchez's name thrown around, but it sounds like the Cowboys thankfully aren't interested. I wish they would get Josh McCown. He played high school ball in the area where I live and it would be cool to see him play pro ball back in his home state, but rumor is the Browns were asking too much for him.

The young athletic and smart QBs seem to do well in the modern NFL. I'm not saying Dak is going to lead the Cowboys to the Super Bowl this year, but it looks like they will do fine with him and be competitive. He looks like he could do what Russell Wilson did in his first year or two in the league. If he ends up being the QB most of the year and next year, he may not grow fast enough to get rings for Romo and Witten before they retire, but the future of the franchise looks bright with him.

I think dak looks promising , but people need to lay off the sauce

Dak could play solid but when romo is ready to start, hes starting. Cowboys are paying him to be the starter. Hes going to start regardless of how dak looks. Its the reality.

O-line is really good, too. They've got one of the best offenses to be starting a rookie QB. Also, the Cowboys are actually running plays specifically drawn up for his style of play, instead of trying to make him play in Romo's system.

Speaking of hurt QBs, I can't see how Luck's not going to get hurt this year. I think the Colts are mostly starting turnstiles on the O-line this year.

Bengals gotta stop getting injured, too. Lost a Pro Bowl RB and two backups in the last preseason game.

Is there an NA fantasy football league? Still a little over a week before the first game, plenty of time to put together a league and do a draft. I'd join.

Yeah the Colts O-line is improved....but still bad. Broncos line is bad as is Seattle's. I could see all those qbs running for their lives. We'll see. Great qb play can mask lots of deficiencies.

And from a lot of the posts, this thread could pretty much be renamed the Tony Romo bashing thread. Haha.

I think he gets way more hate than he deserves and doesn't get the credit he should. He's been a really good quarterback when healthy.

Looks like Bridgewater is out for the season with an ACL. Rough. I was looking forward to watching him this year.

Yikes! I guess the Redskins/Vikings game I bought tickets for will be a little less exciting come November, but they were a run first team anyway so I don't know how much "easier" of a game it will be for us.

Agree with you on Romo. According to some, he's the best 4th quarter QB in the NFL (https://www.ticketcity.com/news-a...). He's definitely in the top half of QBs in the league.

they really dont know. They say 6-10 weeks and they are serious about that. Its when the bone fully heals. There isnt any long term risk with this injury. Just a fracture that has to heal. Its not safe to play with the fracture though so I bet they hold him the full timetable which means by week 8 or 9. Cowboys have a bye week 7

After what happened with the collarbone last year, they will most definitely do that. What I wonder is what if the Cowboys are like 3-6 going into week 10 with little to no chance of the playoffs. Do they even bother putting Romo out there?

I don't expect them to be that bad,but you never know.

The bolded part above is exactly what Patriot fans were saying after Bledsoe went down and Brady looked good the first couple of weeks. I'd say anything is possible at this time if for some reason Dak plays in the regular season as well as he has in the preseason.

Week 10 would be out 12 weeks

He should be back week 8. And tgats 7 games missed. I think it would take 1-6 or 0-7 for them to not bother risking playing him. They pay him so much money though i could see them even then playing him a few weeks till there eliminated then sit him.

That's also what happened in San Francisco when Alex Smith got hurt and Colin Kapernick filled in. He played so well they kept him as the starter.

So yeah,if Dak lights it up....I doubt Romo sees the field. And of course they'll use the injury as a cover for why he's really not out there.

Dont think bledsoe was owed the money and count as much against the cap as romo is. And bledsoe wasnt as good as romo is.

And again. Alex smith wasnt in the same class as a romo. He was pretty easy to unseat. He also wasnt owed the same type of money and count against the cap for multiple years.
