Hey everyone!  Thank you all for a fun and successful first week of the 2012 contests with Super Mario Bros.  This week's game is going to be R.C. Pro-Am.  Here are the rules:

  • Play until Game Over
  • Highest score wins

The contest ends Sunday, 1/29/12 at 10 PM NA time.  Your user name must be in the picture for your score to be valid.  The entire TV screen, or computer monitor if you are playing on an emulator, MUST be in the picture for the score to be valid.  No partial screenshots will be considered or accepted.  Good luck everyone and have fun!

Sweet, I was just playing this today with my nephew. I gave it to him for his B-Day. I love RC Pro-am, use to always play this as a kid. I've never played this game for points, so this should be fun.

This is not an easy game for me. I wouldn't be surprised if someone happens to rack up half a million points while avoiding oil spills in ever single spot of the map. Seriously, I have a better chance of completing Contra with one life.  Twice.  With the Laser.



In case you're wondering, I got so infuriated, I broke RC Pro Am to pieces, so I had to resort to an emulator.

Nice score Eric!

Could you edit your earlier post and delete the score and picture. This is simply to avoid any confusion when compiling scores.

Quick question. When you say "play until game over" do you mean, game over once you loose one life... or game over once you used up all your continues?

I played on one life. That is what I took the rule to mean. New score for me as well.

When you're 'out' of one course, you're basically 'Game Over', plus, your score reset when you continue. Based on this, I thought that taking a continue was quite useless since you restart farther in the game with a score of zero.

but then again, what will the rules ask for...some specialize in no death...some in speed runs, some in Point scoring...
That is the fun of these contest, you never know what challanges you have to face, even on your best game.

I don't think 1 life-it will work, as you only see your score on game over or the next stage.

Everyone can beat it with the spread gun. I'll do it with the damned pea shooter.  I don't understand how oil spills scattered througout the track that lead into turns that instantly destroy you are fair, especially when the computer avoids it all the time.  Then again, I just really hate this game with the constant EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE when you so much as turn.

Yeah, I think level 18 is where I crapped out with the oil. Oh well. I hate the bombs, though they've saved me a few times lol

This is about as far as I can get I think.  I always game over right when I get the 3rd car.

edit: Just read the rules.  No way I'd be able to get my entire TV in the picture and you be able to read my name.  Also, that would require tape, which I don't have.   Hopefully you'll take my score, since I'm not winning anyway.

Played 6 games of this tonight for about an hour and a half, each game I did better than the last, but that very last game blew all of the rest of my scores away. Furthest I got was to track 22, not bad I think for not really playing this game since the mid 90s. But damned that cheap ass yellow car and his random rocket speed.

Score upon game over 178,899
