You wouldn't say my score was par. Then you'd have to say my score was three over par, etc. It's just the number of strokes. Read the manual. And it was never specified in this thread exactly how the "score" was to be calculated. It just says lowest score wins, it doesn't say "your score is your number of strokes plus or minus par". It just says lowest score. Scoring in this game is by stroke total, so that's your score. Why do you think the first score posted was 74 and not 2?

For those of you who don't have it, page 6 states about stroke play:

The game's winner is decided by your TOTAL STROKE COUNT for 18 holes (cap bitch and bold added by me).

Score is 72. We are playing the "stroke play" aren't we? 72 strokes total, that's your score.  The game automatically calculates based on over/under par holes for the total. On another note, has anyone managed to get the legendary super shot? It seems pretty tough to do with certain clubs, especially 1W.

Actually his score is PAR, but thanks for playing you know about GOLF!

Well, I play Golf since I'm 10 years old, and I never heard anyone saying 'I played PAR' on the whole course. Hole per hole, yes. Total of score, we say 'Even'.

Anyway, let's just stop talking about this. You can post your score the way you want, 78 or +6, 65 or - 7, I'm pretty sure we all know what we're talking about in the end.

Alright now its time to play who was right?  Answer this riddle for me if you played golf since you were 10.  Lets say you just shot +1 in a round of golf in which you tell your NA buddies, man today I shot One over _____ !   Than the next day you shoot better than average and tell your NA buddies all excited that  you shot One under ____!   Fill in the blanks and tell me what that is called you JIVE TURKEY!  I will give you a hint, it rhymes with "CAR"

So after all this, its okay I forgive you, just say man SKULLDEATH was correct.

I agree with guillavoie here.  Let's stop arguing over how the scores will be posted.  Post your scores any way you want, whether it's 74 or +2 or 74 (+2).  Let's not worry about it.  And if someone gets par, I don't care if they list the score as "0" or "even" or "par."  We all know what it means, even if we all use different terms.  Let's just play the game and have fun instead of arguing with each other.

And if you shoot 0, you shooted EVEN PAR. Now, we're all Jive turkeys

I have not posted score yet, but I played a (71\ -1 \ 1 under PAR) round so far. I will probably do much better till Sunday.

I've been playing it just a little, I just haven't had time much this week due to doctor appointments following the last clot. Trying to figure out what the disease is now. It's not a hard game, but it does take practice. Play is essentially the same as any other golf game. One complaint I have is that you can use the aimer to scan or draw it closer to the hole. Really annoying. Putting, for example, you can only move the aimer in the static range they give you, though it makes a hell of a lot more sense to allow you to adjust its distance so you can put it close to the hole to better determine your shot. Anyway, I'll see if I can get a decent score to post by the weekend, might not have enough time though. Definitely not enough to be one of the best and beat the top score, that would take me probably 1-2 weeks of decent play to get a proper hang of it. I just never played golf games much.

I was -8 until I bogeyed and then double bogeyed on I  think 15 and 16. Ended at -5. I guess I have to figure out a new way to post a pic? I seem to be having trouble.

EDIT* Here we go  67 (-5)

Wow you guys are rocking this shit. I'm going to try more this weekend, but I'll likely only be able to turn in a participation point. Just not enough time to practice, let alone against skilled playing like that! Question, Guill, what does the pink circle with the "E" in it signify?

Oh cool, so I guess A would be albatross then. Well, first time through the game, got a score of 80. Not too bad. Might have enough time to practice and get below par, but you boys are rocking this shit like you designed it already. I'd probably need at least another week. Hint.

Are we allowed more than one entry, or did I shoot myself in the foot being a smartass with my first post?

Ok cool. Trying to get a better score on NES Open is considered to be a productive use of work hours right?

Hahahaha, that was worse than my first score!  Yeah, this game takes a lot of practice.  I was slowly getting it, but it would have taken at least another week to get up to speed with the beast scores on here.  Great job guys, a fecking 62?  Damn, that's tough!

Let me guess, because you didn't post a score for golf it doesn't count as a loss on your end?

Haha, I was hoping I would be at least 50 over par, but I was too good for that   Yeah, this game does take a lot of practice.  I didn't have much time to play it last week, so I did my only attempt yesterday afternoon after work.  I re-started 3 times after really bad starts on the first 3 holes, but then I just said screw it, participation points are fine with me   It's a fun game and I wish I had put more time & effort into it, but work kept me too busy.
