Well I found this from a game seller at the flea market so it was $10 but still worth it to me at least.

Considering that is has a tear on the front I would almost guarantee that it was removed and reapplied. If it looked mint and and didn't have a tear you could get prob 20-30 bucks out of it maybe. Some people don't care about this type of thing at all, other like me love it I would say this one is a fake for sure though.

I would agree it looks like someone put the label back on upside down.

I'm going to have to disagree here.  The cartridge label looks legit.  Typical flea market items show this kind of damage.  If the label was previously removed, usually at least one corner will stick up.  There would also possibly be a slight crease in the bottom of the label from it being creased over, but I do not see this.  Looks legit, just looks like someone gave a severe beating to the cart.

How about somebody with a vast collection of cheap-ass extra cartridges test the theory of peeling and resticking the label to compare the results?

very easy to do. Get a hair dryer and warm up the glue and it peels right off and reapplies like magic. Most people don't realize it but it can be done for sure fairly easily.

The rip on the corner is a tale tale sign it is a fake IMO. Looks like they tried to start the peeling from that corner and got the top half of paper without realizing it at first. Then the got the bottom sticky part going and finished the job.

Even if it were mint and 100% real, it still wouldn't fetch that much money, less than 30 at VERY most I think. Michiganfan2 got an upside Yoshi that is real as far as I can tell for like 15 from Qixmaster a long time ago, so they aren't really worth that much extra, just a interesting piece to have.

It's so easily fake-able that there really shouldn't be much value to these at all. And as far as a crease goes...many labels don't crease and will stick flat. The labels are simply "stuck around" the corner and not folded...when the game didn't receive much rough wear and tear, a full crease line would never develop. If a game/label is mint it should come off without a crease. Many games kept CIB for their lifespans come look this way, they haven't been handled/abused enough to form a crease around the plastic of the cartridge.

Now if there was an offcut label that would rock socks. Has anyone ever seen labels where the cutter got off-alignment and the image is off-center/rotated off the label entirely?

Well, I think it's legit, but due to the condition and the fact that it IS easily fakable, it's still not worth much. But cool item.

Who would go through all that effort to fake it, just to sell it for $10 at a flea market? No, it's likely legit, but in really shit condition. Nice snag, but don't expect to make your money back on it.
