Can anyone confirm pics of the tv from jerry's apartment, from the front point of view, viewing the television? I'm betting they had a SNES somewhere on set, most likely by the TV. I don't recall seeing a screenshot from that point of view.

Yes, it's a SNES non-players choice box. If you'd like, I'll snap a picture of it with my box.
I believe there was an SNES in georges apartment, I've seen pics of that and the VB before.

Ha! That's freaking awesome! I never even noticed that before.

Just in case someone is still in doubt, I grabbed some stills from the HD remastered Seinfeld, blew it up 200%. It's definitely wider than the Tetris next to it.

It's clearly a snes box, you can see the red bar going under and the text are all in the same area.

I have World Cup CIB. Got it when I was young as a gift. That game is super fun. When I get tired of doing super backflip kicks I single out certain computer opponents and focus on tackling them until they literally die and don't move anymore the rest of the game.

The games mixed in between VHS tapes triggers my OCD. It's odd because Jerry Seinfeld also has OCD so no way he would have arranged them that way. Furthermore, it is interesting to know that not only did his character have a NES but he also upgraded to a SNES at some point.

On a somewhat related note:  I watched an episode of Fraiser over the weekend and noticed a boxed Earthbound, several Snes' and what looks like a boxed Virtual Boy on the shelf in the background.

Someone noticed it long before I did though, here's a link:

Edit:  it's at about the .25 second mark.

Guys, they hire a company to dress the set and this third party company goes out and gets whatever the hell they want to put on the set. Most things are non functional and from another third party company which produces cheap versions of things around at the time.

- food containers are empty and fake
- any Nintendo consoles are probably made of cardboard
- game boxes are empty and probably made by another third party company just creating empty reproduction boxes.
- many other things are fake.

I doubt anything on that shelf is real.

I don't know about everything being fake. I just read a story about a guest star (the guy who played Elaine's dad) stole a real knife from the set and threatened to stab Jerry with it. Which is why Mr. Bennis wasn't a reoccurring character.

Wow, this thread is awesome. I never knew about this.

The HD still from the remastered DVD really makes it obvious that it is a SNES box, but it was a cool mystery regardless.

I love seeing old video games in old TV shows and movies. Especially when they get things wrong. So funny.

Like, I think there was a Fresh Prince episode where the young kid was playing a Game Gear with no game in it.

I see a few sonic spinball copies.

WTB Cdn sealed black boxes, sealed Cdn first party titles.    I.e. the "mattel" Cdn boxes with both french and english.   Mainly black boxes, zelda, link, and tyson, but let me know what you have.    I am interested in anything I don't already have!
