Who suggested this crazy difficulty level anyway?

I could look back into the thread, but I'm lazy...

I love Gun-Nac, but not on this setting!

I just tried two games of it, and I don't know why people are complaining so much about the difficulty. That's still the same great game to me.
We're in a contest-style of playing, and I think that's awesome to have such a challenging difficulty, that put some depth into the game. You have to think much more how to proceed through the level and when using your bombs. That's way more interesting than just blasting everything easily and going through 4 hours of play to record something.

I just played the game for the first time, and you guys are pretty good, I hit 67000 in about 30 minutes. But, this game is simply awesome.

I love Gun-Nac too, but if the game were this difficult normally, I would feel the opposite. Its kinda like Metal Storm, on the default game, its brilliantly perfect, but on the expert mode, while still has everything that makes it so great, the difficulty can kill the enjoyment. Or Cybernoid, okay well maybe most hate the game as is, but I managed to find some enjoyment out of it, on the easy setting, but trying the other difficulty levels I thought, what the hell are they thinking, who the heck would be able to even get past a couple screen on this.

What's odd is how I was able to kill Gradius III on the SNES on the hardest settings, Arcade and Technical Monkey many ages ago, and that game on those settings had the ricochet of bullets as well, but the difference, there was tons of slow down on that game. And unlike Gun-Nac, sometimes because of walls, you were able to find places to hide from shots, all those options and that shield that shrinks your ship is a big help too. Or maybe I just had better eyes and reflexes then.

At any rate, Gun-Nac is an excellent game and highly enjoyable... it's one of those lesser known titles too, so sometimes you can find loose cartridges extremely under-priced. I've picked up at least 3 here locally for less than $5 in the past year, and I'm a VERY casual hunter.

Figured I would join in on the fun. Got 431,380 and made it a little over halfway through level 2. Expert/Ricochet is much harder than the normal difficulty, that is for sure.

Hey NES Bros. 3, if you reply to someone else's message, you can use an icon of a picture of a mountain to add a pic.

That being said, here is tonight's attempt.  I practiced for 4 hours to get this far, and I'm still not quite where I want to be.  It feels like fighting a war by yourself...oh, wait...

There we go...Lvl 3 boss got me. Ive beat this on expert before.
Only thing is u have to power yourself all the way up ASAP and STAY that way. And avoid other powerup numbers like the plague... Weapon 4 and water bombs was the combo i used here...

wow, think i can't compete anymore. i was just excited to finally beat the first level.

i had a different strategy. i would power up my gun (3) all the way and try to get as many different types of bombs as possible, but always ending with bolt or water. this gave me more to use (for every level you go up, you use another bomb) throughout the level. obviously, my setup isn't the best

1-5 are different types of guns.
W F B T are all different types of bombs.

The more you get of the same one, the more powerful it becomes.
