The owner posted recently in the gold NWC thread. He only has about four posts. Same username as his ebay account.

^^^It still doesn't make a hill of beans difference to the outcome the order in which the bids are placed. If there is a $33 bid, a $60 bid, and a $100 bid, the items sells for $61 bucks to the person who bid $100. If he places his bid in the first ten minutes or the last ten seconds, it won't change the final price.

I'm gonna change the subject:

I don't think so.  He contacted me right after my auction asking if he should list his gold copy. I warned against it but he did anyway.  I've asked him for a list of bidder to compare to those that bid mine up to see if it's the same people.  No word yet.

I think he's concerned and checking this thread. Anyway I wish him luck.

I set a 5k minimum on my auction...have received offers as low as $0.99. At least I've weeded out most of the immaturity. Although, I still get the occasional 20k offer, then it is quickly retracted because of a "mistake."

Just an FYI on a particular ebayer that felt the need to tell me what they really thought of me. Be prepared to laugh, then proceed to block him from all future auctions. Oh, and if this "collector" is part of this forum, be prepared for ridicule my friend:

Dear muresan,

just letting you know they retracted their previous offer of 100k because they were making fun of the fact you were trying to sell it for 5k starting these sell in great condition for around 12k so asking 65 is insane your making a fool of yourself its all over the internet please do all us collectors and gamers a favor and stop being so stupid

UPDATE: The "Mario" NWC cart still didn't sell. I had a few legit bids but most of them were flakes. There was someone who offered me 12k but then had their ebay account pulled (great huh?). First to match it gets an NWC cart!! (Wishful thinking but would save me time from having to list it a third time around...)

I thought of that route. I just have no idea how it works. I'd need some pointers.

I was actually really interested in this cart before everything went crazy.

-------------------------

My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw Ferris pass out at the Let's Play Gaming Expo last night. I guess it's pretty serious.

Oh, my WTB thread is very popular. The sportos, the motorheads, geeks, sluts, bloods, wastoids, dweebies, Richard craniums - they all adore it. They think it's a righteous thread.
I'd also like to add that I've got my father's gun and a *scorching* price guide for aftermarket Nintendo games.
Between Dragon Warriors and nothing... I'll take Dragon Warriors - for any of my FT/FS/FO items.

Post a FO thread on NintendoAge already. I'm sure someone here will send you an offer, probably several have already. Everyone's been watching this...

Argh! Wow. Heard a NWC cart was up for sell, so I just wanted to poke my head in and see how things where going. What a freak'n nightmare. Ebay sounds like a total waste of time. They need to figure out a way to validate bids for certain auctions. Surely they could have a means to prepay bids, put a hold on funds or the such? Then maybe that 2 year old's daddy would make more of an attempt to keep his toddler off ebay. I could only imagine what kinds of "things" the kid is purchasing from CraigsList.

Hope you are having better luck now, Muresan.

Muresan - was third time a charm? Any luck with your cart?

Did anyone learn if the 100k gold actually sold or what happened with it?

No way that gold cart sold for 100k. Both carts had severe label condition issues; both were well publicised "troll bait."

Hey gang. To answer some of the questions above, sorry for the delay, the cart never did sell. I put it back on ebay but am going to monitor the bidding like a hawk and cancel/block anyone that doesn't approach me first. This should be interesting...

*Point of interest: My wife was on Facebook one day and up pops an add for ebay with, guess what, my NWC cart that "sold" for 99k. So glad ebay marketing is trying to make a dollar off my unsold auction. GG ebay!!

Good luck Muresan. You might have better results using a "best offer" option though, to keep the trolls out. You still can't block last second "bogus" snipes on your action.

Full on truth right there. Good point...and thanks for the response.

Maybe if a couple jerks both bid 99k at the last second and refuse to pay, ebay will finally take action. Fat chance but possible, right?

I'll just try it again and see what happens. The overall experience has been poor (understatement) so I don't see how anything could get me down as my expectations are to the floor.
