At one point I considered going for a complete 5-screw collection. Now, I'm just going to say nevermind.

These days I would not trust any 5 screw game unless I find it in a l lot of other games at a flea market it's just too easy to fake them these days even using all nintendo parts so who's to say. Still love to find MT punch-out and Mega Man but I don't ever expect to.

There's got to be a way to authenticate them, no?  Like one that was pieced together and one that is real.

Is the board or rom any different from the later revs?

Only way I would know to do any sort of a check would be to read the date code on the chips on the board. Still, this would not be any sort of solid confirmation but with older chips compared against later 3 screw board this would be about as solid a confirmation one could hope for.

USUALLY the earliest print run of the game is the only way to check for it. Altho this and I think my 5 screw Mega Man are 8752 which is not a first print.

*EDIT* Just checked mine, itwas 8752 as well.  It might be the only 5 screw that the 5 screw version is not its earliest print.

Because he likes N64 more than Saturn?

Err... probably because he sold guitarzombie a 5 Screw MM by looking at this feedback

It was the one game I REALLY wanted and gave up finding for cheap.  He cut me a deal because he knew I really wanted it.  So I try to thank him every time.  And he should know this will NEVER be sold.  Its my personal favorite piece.

I took some pics of my 3 screw's board for comparison. There are some chip differences as well as a difference in the board designation altogether. My 3-screw has NES-UNROM-09 printed at the top, the 5-screw says NES-UN-ROM-06.

The front label is identical so I didn't bother with a pic. Also, as mentioned before, this MM 5-screw isn't a first print, it's a Rev-A and says so on the back sticker.

Hopefully this info makes it harder for people to fake (since a winning bid like that is bound to draw some of the wrong attention)

Ive already seen 3 5 screw MMs were printed 8752 including mine. The UNROM-09 is a PCB revision. Im not ENTIRELY sure if every 5 screw should have the same PCB revision as the chip pinouts and everything are identical. The only real way to know for sure is to know when the pcb revisions were first introduced.  Your chip was printed in 92, and I think the last revision of an UNROM board is '09'
