Welcome to the site, Robin. I'd say that NWC cart is worth a fair chunk of change. As for how much...I'd say at least $4000 for sure, and I wouldn't be surprised if it sold for more than $5000, as you are (most likely) the original owner, and it's in decent shape (PS. Please sell it to me if you're looking for a buyer ). Regarding the Disney Capcom Playtour...I think I'd heard of it once back when I was younger, but I recall nothing further...

Welcome to the site Robin. It's great to have interesting visitors such as yourself. Thor actually just started visiting here not too long ago. Great guy.

Anyway, there are definitely people here that would be very interested in your NWC cart. I know of a few people that are looking for a cart with a known original owner.

yeah i saw that (about thor).  i was recently in touch with him about the NWC.  he is a really nice guy.  crazy that he doesnt even know where his is.  for those of you who dont know, thor 100% deserved to win that thing back then.  i remember watching him....all of us finalists watching him play tetris on this big screen television before our "practice" time and it was amazing.  he could vibrate his thumbs right and left faster than it would move if you just held it.  so not only was he a better player (at tetris), but he could move the pieces faster.  so here we are, all the best players in our respective states and we re looking at eachother like its already over.

i just had a request to tell my story (which is quite a long one), but im not sure where to put it..... or how much to tell    any thoughts??

Robin here again.  Instead of collectors corner, I've been asked to write it in the e-zine.  I'm not sure how long it takes, but I'll accompany it with pics and do my best to give all the details.

Asfar as the sale of the NWC I'm willing to talk to any of you.  My feelings on the matter are a little torn at the moment though.  Last year I almost sold it to a kid who was offering 1000$.  I was broke at the time and had just had a baby, and had no idea it was worth so much more.  I actually found Thor on myspace to ask him for his thoughts.  He didn't know the current value either and thought it was a good deal.  Later, we both read up (what we could find on google) and learned that it was sold at 2k....and    someone  has been trying at 7k.  I read an article from some "collector" that thought it could go as high as 70,000$ some day (that would be nice).   So anyway I was talking with someone recently about this theory that it could reach 70 and they were like "if I offered you 10 right now would you take it?" .  I said yes, because A) theres no guarantee it will go up anywhere near 70 and B) i think 10 now will be worth more to my family than triple that would be worth in 20 years.  (i realize it's not worth 10....yet)

The truth is this game is the only material thing I value in the universe.  There was a fire in my apartment last year and as I ran out I grabbed, baby, cash, and NWC.... without thinking.  Now that I am not so broke, it seems like maybe i should just hang on to it.    My mom, an avid comic reader, once had X-men number 1 (which wasnt catching on back then) and gave it to someone.   You add the fact that I used to pray to own it (back when nintendo power  had a contest for the gold), and, like I said I'm a little torn..... torn, but listening to offers

Welcome to NA Robin. It is good to see another finalist pop up on the boards. I agree with the above statement that your cart would be worth at least 4-5k. I actually met up with Steve Gingerich over the summer and bought his. As far as that kid offering 1000, I'll go 1001! Seriously though, I would carefully consider parting with that. I know I would regret parting with it. I am looking forward to your story.

David, 27, I have 243 games, including six sealed and virgin Addadin carts....

My obsession is Tecmo Super Bowl, I have gone undefeated with all 28 teams without reseting any games (cheaters) and I record each season in a rediculously detailed excel document......

I have problems.

This is like an AA meeting...

My name is Robbie. 23. I'm a collector from the St. Louis area. I wrote/publish a NES price guide and rarity list (Dr. Robbie's NES Price Guide and Rarity List). It's now in it's third edition, but I should be updating it soon for 2009.

I have around 525 different NES games and maybe 20 or so odd controllers. I mostly look for interesting games like Hong Kong Cartridge Company Carts, odd multicarts and odd older pirated carts. And of course newer stuff like Retrozone stuff and Electrokraft carts (great stuff). And I always love reading about newly found games and such. Just made my first cart today of Adventure of Valkyrie Legend of the Time Key (I cheated though, I don't have an EEPROM burner, so I used a Gyromite converter with a Famicom cart. :-P - works though).

Well, that's about it ... hi!

Greetings everyone from eastern Canada. Just introducing myself. I have been a collector of video games for about 3 years. I have roughly 1000 carts spread amoung various consoles from the 8-bit/16-bit eras. One of course being the Nintendo NES of which I have 237 carts. Lately though I've been thinking about selling them as I have purchased the PowerPak from retrousb.com. I suppose the nostalgia kicked in for me when I built a MAME cabinet. Ever since I wanted to play those old childhood games on the real consoles. Emulation is okay but doesn't come close to slapping in a cartridge and picking up a joystick and wasting a few hours in front of the old telly. Anyways, glad to be here. We'll talk later.

Old aunts used to come up to me at weddings, poking me in the ribs and cackling, telling me, "You're next." They stopped after I started doing the same thing to them at funerals.
