I always struggle vs slash and vs beebop. I was gooding off on a practice run . Died twice early on by some bs, but kept playing anyway. Of course then i beat slash without losing a life and beebop without losing a life and get all the way to stage 9 on that life. It was unbelievable. I can do it without the 2 life pressure lol.

Well I beat the Twin Galaxies time on Koopa Beach 2, so the only one I have left is Ghost Valley 2. I'm not sure I can actually beat the GV2 time without completely revamping my strategy. I need to be 0.27 seconds better which doesn't seem like much but my execution is nearly perfect already and on my best run I also got my best lap, so there's not much more I can squeeze out of it.

i always lose a life on stage 4 and the pirate ship. this is a long game :/

those yellow foot soldiers that throw those green disc things are my least favorit enemy.(first encounter them on the ship) then more in stage 9.  If I get hit by one of those , just goodnight. Youll get in a loop of getting hit and trapped. Hate those fuckers

Can't get past Bebop and Rocksteady without losing a life. Got quite a bit further tonight, but Still made some dumb mistakes. I think Michaelangelo is my best turtle for this challenge. He walks the second slowest(behind Donatello) but his attacks have the best balance of reach, damage, and speed. Raph was always my fave, but he's got no reach and his attacks are a lot weaker.

Raph is my favorite too   always has been. i tried w/mike just for shits. i didnt like how slow he is. 

you can lose 1 life you have to stop immediately after getting shel shocked the 2nd time. 

i think i can beat this thing w/2 lives.

Woke up to this and had to bust out some early morning play on my laptop since the rest of the house is still asleep. I was holding off on posting until I beat it, but I see now I have some competition! 

Any word on what the tie breaker is going to consist of? I can see woRm and I getting to the end, neck and neck.

updated my post.

got my mario kart time way down on all tracks. Got sub 5 minute overall time now!


I know I can do better on ghost valley and koopa beach. Any better on bowsers castle and vanilla lake will just be fraction shavings.

Hey, totally the wrong place for this probably, but it seems relevant enough - is there a month/weekly NES competition? I'd like to take part but 1) I don't have my SNES set up and 2) No way I'll beat you guys at my two worst genres, racing and beat em ups.

Admittedly, I haven't put near the time in this year that I did last year. Even if I did though, there's no catching pegboy. Miles will likely come in and knock me down like you mentioned too. Not a matter if but when

there are 2 new games every month for snes. Next month is Gradius and Bust a Move

Set up that snes and participate. It doesnt matter if your bad at the games. Give them a shot. Still have a week of this competition left.

There is an NES competition every week. They are finalizing the game list for the year for that one still.

Yes, bimmy_lee runs the weekly NES thread. It will start within the next month most likely.  The monthly nature of this guy was intended to complement their weekly format.

And this month's competition is just one of eleven, with points carrying over for one final tally.  So, participation is never meangingless in the long run.
