Hello everyone and welcome to the latest installment of the weekly contests.  I'm getting things started a little early this week since I will not be at home at 10 PM when I normally start the contests.  NES Open Tournament Golf will still be going until 10 PM NA time and will not end early.  So, if you're tired of playing some golf and want another challenge, come give this week's game a try.  And what game is it you ask?  This week it's gonna be Solomon's Key (Dain, we better see you play this week ).  Here are the rules:
  • Play until Game Over
  • Take your picture on the Game Over screen.  Alternately, you may take your picture on the Title Screen if the Game Over screen disappears
  • Highest score wins
  • GENRE: Puzzle


The contest ends Sunday, 9/29/13 at 10 PM NA time.  Your user name MUST be in the picture for your score to be valid.  The entire TV screen, or computer monitor if you are playing on an emulator, MUST be in the picture for the score to be valid.  No partial screenshots will be considered or accepted.  No screenshots by hitting "print screen" on a computer will be allowed.  You must take a picture of your computer monitor.  There may be instances where this will be acceptable, but it will be at the discretion of myself and the contest organizers.  Also, the use of turbo controllers is forbidden, as well as any cheat codes, Game Genies, or save states if playing on an emulator.  Also, we will only be using NTSC systems for the contests.  The use of PAL systems will NOT be allowed.  Good luck everyone and have fun

I remember liking this game as a kid. I picked up the cart again recently. I also noticed it was just released last week on the 3ds virtual console.

Hoping to put a score in this week. Last few times I've played SK, I've had trouble getting past a few levels, so we'll see how that goes. This game is mighty tough to beat unless you memorize each level and a bit of luck.

I remember watching you and Paul play this at the last Campout, unless I'm mistaking this for Fire n' Ice. Game looks fun, but does look a bit challenging. It's one of those games I need to pick up and play one of these days.

Hey Kevin, my copy is being a little stupid and keeps crashing at certain points. Is it okay if I pause the game and take a picture during gameplay? If not, I'll understand.

Well, I'll get the ball rolling. While I love Solomon's Key, this game is probably one of the hardest I've ever played. And I beat some really tough ones on the nes. Getting a really good score will take a lot of practice and memorization. lol.

This has been really fun! Crazy hard at times, but so far so good. Nothing good enough to post yet, but it'm getting better.

I thought I owned a copy of this, but I turned out to be wrong. I played Solomon's Club a couple times in the past for the GB, so I'm a little familiar with the game, but it's still tough for not playing this one before. I'm having a tough time with it so I'm going to be realistic and set my goal for the week to be getting to 6-digits and then go from there.
