I want to beat this someday, but man, the game gets _hard_ by world 7.

Ideally I want to save my P ball for 8-4 if I ever make it that far.

FUCK! I just came within 20k of bert's score. I choked on 7-4.

I killed the Uni-Gon three times. I should have killed him four times.

This was about the best that I'm capable of playing and I still failed. Crap.

I don't even about score at this point. I just want to beat it.

There are many more points to get than killing Uni-gons. I still haven't beaten it.

That's quite a drop off after the top three scores.

Yeah.  To be fair, my first few attempts were terrible.  Then, I realized you can jump...  Pretty easy game once you know how to play.  Very easy to score points as well.  The break time rooms, and simply jumping on moving platforms for a million points?  The Uni-Gons don't really pose much threat either.  Just had to get above them and attack when they aren't shooting.  Plenty of extra lives, so even dying on them wasn't too bad.  Overall, glad I stuck with it.
 

The only part that I had much trouble with was killing the Uni-Gons and that hurt my score. I knew what to do, but I couldn't do it consistently. And sometimes you can't get above them in order to attack, depending on how they enter the screen.

It does get pretty hard near the end. 7-4 and beyond is a bitch. I'm still trying to beat the game.


 

Did you find the secret red and blue hearts room in 2-3? That's almost another million right there.
 

Yes, the break room that plays like a bonus room.  I left a lot of points by not using a P ball until the one in 7-1.  Didn't know about using money bags to get P balls.
 

I knew about the P balls. They're good to save for problem stages. I had to use one in 6-4 because that's a very tough stage for me otherwise.
