Where in Arizona are you hunting? You mentioned competition has risen 10x... where are you mostly looking?
Thanks guys!
I roam a lot of the Phoenix Metropolitan Area, mostly +/- 25 miles of Phoenix. I don't have any method to my madness usually, so I rely on dumb luck.
The past year and a half or so I've noticed more and more people hunting for video games. Lots of other people asking about them at sales too. At retro stores like Bookmans, things don't stay on the shelves very long. I once asked about a CIB Chrono Trigger, maybe in 6/10 shape that was priced at $275. The guys said it would sell quick even though I thought it was almost $100 overpriced. Sure enough it did. The situation lately has been that if things are priced fairly, the store would be barren.
Looking back four years to when I first started my Finder's Keepers diary, I see myself making a lot more mentions about finding things late in the day:

Even though there is a lot of competition out there, I still believe that there are a lot of things to be found if you look hard enough! I don't specifically go out looking for video games, but I pick them up as I see them!
