I just wanted to take a second and publicly thank Thor for coming to the event.  It was a real pleasure and honor to get to hang out with the champ.  I always wondered what he would be like to meet after talking about him so many times over the years on the forums, and I have to say he is a super nice guy.  He spent lots of time hanging out with us, and answering all our crazy questions.  He told us some awesome stories and really created some awesome memories I will never forget.  Thanks so much for driving out all the way from Dallas to hang out with us, I think I can speak for everyone in attendance and say we all really appreciate it.  Also tell you g/f thanks as well, she was a real trooper to tolerate all us nerds and video game speak for so long, real cool chick.

One final little story that I wanted to share.  After the expo was over and everyone had left, I went home with my g/f to shower up and clean up for the after party.  I was sitting on my couch relaxing for a few minutes and recapping the day.  My phone rings and what does it say?  "Thor"  He called to ask about the after party.  We talked for a minute or two and made arrangements.  After we hung up, I looked over at Steph and said Thor freaking Auckerland just called and wanted to talk to me, how cool is that!  Your a good man Thor, I just wanted to say thanks on behalf of the whole community, it was awesome to meet you.

I wanted to also thank Thor for signing my cart for me. It looks awesome and its my 2nd favorite autograph in my collection (Babe Ruth is 1st, sorry). Hopefully, I'll get to see him again next year.

Thor was awesome. Unbelievably so. I am so glad he decided to make the trip, how lucky were we to be at the event that he decided to resurface? He told his stories in such a way that it made you like him even more. NWC champ or not, it was a pleaure meeting Thor Ackerlund.

Thanks for giving me something that I can hand down to my kid. I don't know if I'll always have my whole NES collection, but I'll definitely always have the first-run NWC repro that you graciously put your name on for me.

Echo... echo... echo... yeah for me especially it was the time by the pool on the first night. I haven't learned that much "new" stuff about the NES era in a long, long time. Cheers Thor

My mantra, as worded by SamSpade on 06/12/12:
I don't resell to fund my collection, I don't treat this hobby like a second job, I don't care if my collection is worth ten bucks or ten thousand because I never plan on selling it. Seriously, what does the value have to do with anything if you never plan on selling? Speculation doesn't mean jack shit to me at this point, I just want to play my nes games...

Thanks guys! I can't tell you how great it was to meet all you guys, and I deeply appreciate the opportunity to remember good old times while having some new good times with you all! Also really cool that you made Amanda feel at home with the group as well, she's a bit of a gamer now and then as well

(and your john hancock in my grail diary will hopefully give it some magical powers for finding a 1990 NWC cart!!)
