I've found a few Original Xbox/PS1, and common NES games at those locations, but nothing to be excited about.

It's kinda funny because the thrifts I usually go to, you wouldn't be able to count how many people were there. It's a wonder I ever find anything, LOL.

If you found another display case type item at goodwill, I will come to Ohio and smash it, Then take your mother, Dorothy Mantooth, out for a nice seafood dinner and never call her again.

May not be a great grab to some, but I am always excited to add something new to my Nintendo collection that I would normally buy online, but find at Goodwill instead! My daughter freaked out when I brought these in the house, screaming "Daddy! It's the Mario Bros! I love them!". Too bad they are going in daddys

dungeon, where she can't play with them ha ha. photo 20140117_200354_zpsa766e701.jpg

I just hooked this thing up a little while ago to some older Pioneer speakers I had laying around, and I must say this thing is pretty frickin' nice! Can't decide if I want to keep it or sell it yet.

I've looked on goodwill.com, but every time I find a game I want for a good price, I look at the shipping and handling charges and they're always insane!!! One was $14 for 1 ds game! It's robbery and turns me off from even bidding.

Shopgoodwill sucks, if something isn't bid to he'll for above ebay prices the shipping kills it. Never found a good deal there.

Awesome thread. I think what amazes me the most is you can pick up games a couple times a week. I visit the 5 thrift stores near me every single day and I'll see a new game a couple times a month and its usually a damage PS2 sports game.

Also, I hate you because your thrift stores price games for crazy cheap. That may be a strange correlation but I'm sticking to it!

Special Note: I was unable to find a price tag on the Nerf gun or plush. I went to the counter to check out and informed them there was no price. The manager was standing there, and asked me if I planned on returning the items. I said no, and she told the guy to charge me $1.99 for the Nerf and .99 for the plush. Once I got home, I removed the never opened dart bag that was taped to the gun, and underneath that was the price tag, for $7.99. Should I feel bad about this? Meh.

Nerf SwarmFire ($1.99)
Wii Smackdown vs Raw 2011 ($2.99)
Ghostbuster Plush ($.99)

Yeah, she is. Why wouldn't my wife be happy that I bought something I wanted for one reason or another?

My wife loves it when I bring home stuff like this; except for all those times when she didn't...but we don't talk about that.
I did happen to find a copy of Monty Python's Complete Waste of Time at Goodwill the other day, along with seven Stephen King books.

Nice grab man. I also pick up evry Steven King hardback I find, but its becoming few and far between to find titles I don't have yet. I also collect a few other authors, including Dean Koontz, Johnathan Kellerman, and Douglas Adams.

I'll occasionally go for a Dean Koontz book (mostly Odd Thomas), but I also pick up every Terry Pratchett, Neil Gaiman, Douglas Adams, John Scalzi, Spider Robinson, and Robert Henlein I can find too. What can I say? I love to read. My best book find recently was either the Hardbound Special Edition of the Stand for $2, or the 14 Discworld novels for $8. I can't decide.

So do you just do Goodwill or branch out to other thrift stores, and do you have any tips for people? I've started poking around in the toy section in the hopes I might find a action figure or something. And so far I've found a few odd things. One time at Goodwill I found the DK bongo drums for the GC in the toys! And a thrift store around here (idk if you have them where you are) called Value Village actually puts most of their video games in bags in the toy section. I found a few ok games. Nothing amazing. The amazing games are always under lock and key near the front -_-.
