sweet was waiting for the rules for these.

Joe and mac was a childhood favorite. Hadnt played it in awhile. Got pretty far on first attempt. Got to the volcano level . Its the one after red second teradactyl climbing rock level.

Didnt die until a cheap death hit mid air and fell into water in dino dolphin boss level

Question. I dont see the score on the contra 3 screen. Doesnt show my score until last laugh is lost

Sweet, I love Contra III. Low score is going to be a challenge, as my instincts are to obliterate everything in sight, lol.

I haven't played Joe and Mac in probably 20 years, need to brush up on that one for sure!

Didn't know that the American box art of Joe & Mac was that awful. But still a nice title for the competition.  

Remember that the emphasis in Contra III is progress. Scoring will probably only come into play if multiple people get stuck on same level 3 boss, or beat the game

Well i got to the last stage in joe and mac. Died at the stupid trex . Didnt have enough hearts and on my laat life. I continued just to try and beat it for the hell of it after snapping a pic and got to the blue devil part. That last fight drags out forever. Beat the red devil dude but failed at the blue one. That is an endurance boss fight.



all i got to say about contra III is eff stage 3. Lose the flame whip and your just boned.

I remember the final boss fight being a huge ordeal that takes forever when I beat the game recently.

 

Yup, got almost all the keys that run. Also if you beat the game snap a pic right after the boss dies. Credits roll and the end after that.

im definitely going to beat this one soon. I had a 25 year headstart on this game. Rented it a few times. Loved dinosaurs when i was 6-7 years old and i loved this game

i think what makes the final boss feel longer is there is no health meter so you are just hitting him over and over and have no clue how much longer.

I keep saying this, but I'm going to actually make time and try this month, specifically with Contra III. I beat it on hard with the lives exploit, but I think in the process I learned the levels enough that I could get a decent finish in playing legit

Yeah just have your camera ready. Pause when you get the blue devil and get it ready incase you beat it.

Really looking forward to a low score run of Contra III as I've never tried that before. Should be fun.

Never played Joe and Mac I don't think. I may have rented it way back in the 90s, but I don't remember anything about the game. Looking forward to that too.

Why would you forbid farming lives ina low score contest? More farming = higher score.  I won't be participating either way but I was just curious.

Because that's just the tiebreaker. If only 2 people beat the game, you could guarantee yourself a top 2 finish, score be damned.

You can pause the game where I did below right after you beat the boss with your score changed. You cant pause it once the sequence where the girl runs out. If you dont get a picture you technically can start a new game and your Hi Score will be at the top of the screen to the right of your now 0 current score. After the End it does go back to main menu. Once you turn the game off the hi score resets

Got all the keys this run. Missed a few lives though. Still had 7 left when I beat it though

why does it keep rotating my picture. This time it was added correctly, and when it showed up in the posting area it was rotated to the left. WTF


Contra III - 3rd Stage Boss -  207,739




I got hit as I was standing there pausing for the picture at zero lives. Barely got the picture in lol. I got to this boss a few times. Only beat them once but after some continues so that didnt count. Im just not that good at contra III 

The weapon system in Joe & Mac is very forgiving. You get to select between all the weapons that you collect and get to keep all of them even after you die. Not that I'm complaining.

Yea the wheel is the best for regular levels but sometimes the game doesnt want to give it to you till the ice level.

the fire seems the best for alot of bosses though.

I like the boomerang because of its range. You can hit bosses from a distance with it.
