Not sure if there are any weird Internet restrictions overseas, but you should be able to watch every episode a day or two after it airs on their website. Give it a shot: http://www.history.com/shows/pawn...

I think it awesome that pat is going to be on Pawn Stars. Part of me is wondering is he selling, pawning or will he be an expert person.

Good for Pat and best of luck to him.

As far this being a bad thing for "collecting" The cats out of the bag man, you're not the only one in your town buying and or flipping nintendo swag for cash.
People play, pay, and love these older games.
Yes many have gotten into the "retro" market to make a quick buck but as far as I'm concerned prices have beeen blown out since Funcoland shut down and ebay became king, and also when they installed wifi at my flea market.

Pat is doing no damage to the "hobby", Pricing data is very publicly available through completed ebay auctions on most games cart only, cib, or box only. You just have to look for it
Will this be an Nes 101 situation? No I don't think so but to say this brings negativity to our hoarding of nes games is a trivial complaint, he's not the first and he won't be the last. I look forward to seeing what he has to say on national television.

I agree with everything you said.

While I don't care too much for Pat's antics he does in his shows, I do enjoy his reviews. Good for Pat.

I think it will be cool to see someone I've actually seen in person on the show, talking about something I know, no doubt.

So... who wants to guess on what the first complaint on Nintendo Age will be? "Ooooh, he priced the game too high, waaaaaah..." or "Oooh, he mispronounced 'Gannon' and is not a true nerd"

There will be something... you just wait.

I'd say it's 50/50 on Pawn Stars. Some things are offered at extremely low prices, while other items seem relatively fair. They do have a business to run, and if people are willing to accept their offers, then nobody can complain about it. They always have the option of walking away.

DVR says Nintendo World Championship cart. Guess he's going there to either be an expert, or take his cart under the false pretense of selling it to get on tv. No one in their right mind would sell a game like that to a pawn shop considering the levels they pay on value to get their profits.

it will be good for the market because he was seriously underestimaing the value of my games at Magfest during the panel.

It seems on the cheaper items that they are more likely to overpay on camera. Doubtful they would pay anything close to what they do for that common junk that is very hard to sell. Now when it comes to the more expensive item they aren't as willing to take one for the team just to make for a good tv show.

Good Job Pat. Make us proud. What would it take to get you to wear an Ecstasy of Order shirt?

side note: Pat is in the movie!

I'm glad I might be home from work in time to watch this when it permieres on Monday. If he does bring in NWC, I'm sure he will walk away with what they will offer him.

There's no way they'd offer enough to make it worth anyone's while dropping a game like that at a pawn shop unless you were in dire straights and needed immediate cash knowing the peculiar high value of it due to the history there.

^Agreed. NWC's aren't a hard sell unless you are trying to get tip top $$ for it. There would be no reason for a guy who knew his stuff to sell it to a pawn shop.

My first post in this thread is nothing but sarcasm. Basically point fun at the idea of an increased market do to Pawn Stars, I don't think there's many people that actually think like that. I would now like to voice a real opinion on the matter.

I think that Pat appearing on Pawn Stars is great. I'm excited to watch, and I'm happy that our hobby is getting some recognition. It's also good to see another member of the site representing retro game collectors. In the end I don't think that the market will be affected. However were all just going to have to wait and see what goes down Monday night on history.

It'll be cool if he's the expert. I'd watch that.

-------------------------

My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw Ferris pass out at the Let's Play Gaming Expo last night. I guess it's pretty serious.

Oh, my WTB thread is very popular. The sportos, the motorheads, geeks, sluts, bloods, wastoids, dweebies, Richard craniums - they all adore it. They think it's a righteous thread.
I'd also like to add that I've got my father's gun and a *scorching* price guide for aftermarket Nintendo games.
Between Dragon Warriors and nothing... I'll take Dragon Warriors - for any of my FT/FS/FO items.
