Hello everyone and welcome to the latest installment of the Weekly Contests!  This week's game is going to be Clu Clu Land.  Here are the rules:

• 1 player only
• Play until Game Over
• Take your picture on the Title Screen
• If you loop the score, take a picture right before the loop and right after.  Do this for each loop of the score.
• Highest score wins
• Participation: 10,000
• GENRE: Puzzle

The contest ends Sunday, 9/17/17 at 11 PM NA time.  Your user name MUST be written or typed on a piece of paper and be in the picture for your score to be valid.  The entire TV screen, or computer monitor if you are playing on an emulator, MUST be in the picture for the score to be valid.  No partial screenshots will be considered or accepted.  No screenshots by hitting "print screen" on a computer will be allowed.  You must take a picture of your computer monitor.  There may be instances where this will be acceptable, but it will be at the discretion of myself and the contest organizers.  Also, the use of turbo controllers is forbidden, as well as any cheat codes, Game Genies, slow motion functions, or save states if playing on an emulator.  Also, we will only be using NTSC systems for the contests.  The use of PAL systems will NOT be allowed.  Good luck everyone and have fun

How do you even play this game?

The game has a wacky control scheme where you can only change direction by grabbing the things and spinning around. Also you kill enemies by shooting them and then smashing them against the walls.

The object of each stage is to find and reveal all the hidden coins.

Thus far it's a lot more aggravating than fun, but it might grow on me like Klax did.

Nice. Incredibly frustrating controls plus time limit that barely gives you enough time to finish the stage is a winning combination.

I'm having a lot of trouble getting used to the controls. This is one of the most awkward controlling games that I've played.

That's from my only try. I'm sure if I actually studied how to do the bonus stages and put in some effort, I could get a really high score.
 

Actually perfect bonus stages aren't worth much. You supposedly get 3000 extra points on top of the value of the jewels, but the game doesn't always give it to you. More often than not, a glitch gives you 300 or even 30 points instead.  

That said, this game can be a lot of fun if you give it a real shot.

Hint: Every stage has only 4 possible jewel formations. It gets easier to clear levels quickly once you've seen a lot of them.
