You should learn to dodge Ayako because you will need to fight 2 of them and then 3 of them later (assuming you get far enough). You dodge by flying to the far right / left in between the "burst" shots to give you plenty of time to see the "spread" shots coming, then go between / around the spread and go to the other side (to be furthest away from Ayako)

Congrat's again, you did beat the TG record!!!   I am suprised you were able to get that many points without beating it, did you have to fight a boss twice, I hope not, because I think that wouldn't work for the TG score, I don't think it matters here though, and it shouldn't anyway, so I am not sure why its a rule for TG.  I think the only level I have ever been pushed back is the last, I don't know if it would help with more points or not, I might try it and see.   It's a shame you couldn't make it the full way, to see what that score would have been like !!!  Good luck, keep plugging away !!!

the only reason I am doing so well is I played the crap out of it last year, but you have master this game pretty quick!

I tried giving it 1 run on the emulator,  managed a mil, but it got to the point where I was pointing one way on the controller and the plane was going another, so I know it's a waste of effort.

I think I'm done. I've been throwing my controller too much, and it's just making me waste 30-45 minutes each run, also making me waste lots of precious breath that can be spent on something other than swearing. Anyways, I'll post an updated score...I think I hit 900,000 or at least got close.

Thought for sure I wouldn't get a real chance at this contest, but while up at my sister's house, having brought up all my brother's stuff and what little furniture we could take in a u-haul yesterday, today I was able to play a little bit of my games while there. Gave 1943 a whirl, well actually a few tries, and while not the greatest score, at least its more satisfying for me than playing using a keyboard on emulator with a lousy score. I 

made it to mission 9 before my first death at best, left it at that, my nephews were kind of a distraction for me anyway, asking me questions about why I'm doing this, what that is, that sorta stuff, but its okay, I was mostly struggling with survival anyway, even with my offense and defense completely maxed out, game is crazy hard, airplanes flying from everywhere. I fell short of what I was aiming for, was hoping to at least reach a million points, but I did okay for what little bit I was able to put towards it.

Yeah, I think the only ones I didn't 100% were the Ayako planes. I wish they gave you a % shot down for the whole level too. That would be nice.

This came down to the wire, was my third attempt this afternoon after starting at 3.  Finished at around 7pm central, then took me forever to upload picks!  Slow connection.

I hope it's not disqualified by Twin Galaxies becuase I paused the game after finishing off Totaku, to get the picture for this contest LOL : )

But I plan on beating that score anyway, I had a couple major screw ups in this run, so there is definitely room for improvement!!
