good luck with this Joe

WTB Cdn sealed black boxes, sealed Cdn first party titles.    I.e. the "mattel" Cdn boxes with both french and english.   Mainly black boxes, zelda, link, and tyson, but let me know what you have.    I am interested in anything I don't already have!

I'll need it!

16 to 20 games a week is my goal! That means play, complete, review, scan, and research.

in for 1, sight-unseen. Sounds like it'll be a blast to research, but surely a lot of work to put together. You seem to have exactly the attention to detail something like this requires, though.

Good luck. Glad to hear about a book covering PAL games.

Awesome, thanks for the support.

I'm legitimately concerned about some things though. Since I'm doing it from the eyes of a modern gamer it'll be tough to review Sports and Trivia games with outdated information.

Also, I don't want to immediately discount childrens games, non-games, and the systems only "girl" game just because they aren't my style, but I also don't think they deserve the attention of the same rating scale. The 5 Sesame Streets, the 3 Fisher-Prices, Barbie, DK Math, Mario Is Missing/Time Machine, Mickey's Numberland/Letterland, Videomation, Cartoon Workshop, Waldo Search, Carmen Sandiego, Color A Dinosaur, Miracle Piano, and Racermate.

Then I also want to give special attention to laughably shitty unlicensed games while separating the decent ones with serious reviews, I'm talking Active, 6-in-1, Panesian, Bunch/Color Dreams, SACHEN, HES...again not on the same scale since they're just for the most part so darn crappy, yet worth it for the humor.

Roughly a year, more realistic, a year and a half.

This is my "I have a dream", and I want to make it as information rich as possible and I will legitimately play through everything I review unless the game is impossible to beat , there is no ending, or the ending requires years of mastery (e.g. Cheetahmen II, or DK Tetris killscreen)

I'm going to be honest, I would be much more excited about this if it hadn't already been done...twice in fact (to my knowledge): Jeffrey Wittenhagen as well as Pat the NES Punk both had successful Kickstarter campaigns.

Jeff's book is great but lacks a lot of what I want to put into this book. Pat's book I haven't had a chance to read but from what I've seen he *does* have very similar content as what I plan, however I do plan to be very, very different. I want this book to feel like a super large issue of Nintendo Power...without any ads. I want people to read this book and be inspired to play the NES instead of just use it as an index.

I promise to work my hardest to make you excited about this book

The more I think of it, the more I realize that 25 games is too hard to choose to do pixel perfect multipage walkthroughs and I might need to bump it up to 30 or more, but I'm limiting myself for good reason.

Good luck with the project! Love the work so far on the WIP cover. The "collector series" shelf logo is pretty cool.

Thanks, just a quick update too.

I've uploaded a demo page. This is what a page will look like with "lesser" games, basically no major work to be done on these pages, I want to say about 2/3 of the book will look *something* like this of course with more fleshed out detail.

And before anyone asks, yes that's Bronty's (former) Stadium Events. I will however be using scans of my own along with scans from other people with permission.

Did you do the layout yourself? It looks great! Any prior experience in layout design?

It's just a sketch for now, but yeah I did it on my own.

I have tons of graphic design experience from many years ago and I still do graphic design on the side when I have downtime and need some quick cash.

I think I would buy it although the shipping to Brazil would cost a lot.

Quite an undertaking, good luck with everything. I would definitely be interested in buying a copy when it releases, rather put money in your pocket than Pat the NES Dink.

Something can be arranged. I'd love to get a copy of Crimebusters and to my knowledge it's the only Brazilian exclusive game

That isn't an expensive game to buy.
I don't have but there are a few on MercadoLivre.
