Anyone recall how many levels there are?

Best I could find was there are 7 islands - but I do not know how many levels are within each island - as I've never played this game.

Going to give it a go tonight and see what I can muster for a score.

There are 50 stages in Trog altogether.  The very last stage (stage 50) is a bonus level.

Thanks. BTW I have been this game with my 4 year old. Great 2 player for sure.

Level 29 - 2,201,390

Effing stinks 'cause I had a really low score and had a dumb death in level 13. I panicked and grabbed a bunch of points to get the extra life at 1 million... But it never came.
1 mil, 1.5 mil, 2 mil... nothing.
Officially done with Trog! Is there a reason the game decided not to give me anymore extra lives on my best run?

Ah, the first game of the season that I know I am terrible at. I do enjoy Trog!, but I am awful at arcade games like this. Pac-man type games just ain't my steez.

Played once yesterday and made it to Stage 10 with my last life, kept on playing and got Game Over on Stage 21. Not bad for a first try I suppose.

My strategy is to play the game normally without any restrictions and see how far that gets me within the contest restrictions.

647,940 Level 24. Fun game but those jumping trogs get me everytime. Managed one extra life but crapped the bed in the last 2 levels. I missed playing Legendary Wings a few weeks ago but I'll try and see if I can up (I mean lower) this score.

I'm pretty much in the same category as most it seems, being that I love this game but I really suck at it. My final score for it will be posted some time tomorrow since I leave Thursday morning, so I won't get a lot of time on this sadly.

If there are any positives, if all goes well I should be going to a place that has the arcade version on Saturday . I haven't played that version since the early 90's

Well, since most people so far are seemingly in the boat of "loves the game, but sucks at it" (like me), maybe I won't only get a participation point this week. One can hope, at least

If the game is completed do you want a picture of the screen that says "you did it..." because afterwards it tallys up all these extra bonus points to your score (as in millions of extra points)

I only got an extra life at 500,000 and 1,000,000. When do you get another life after that? I passed 2,000,000 and still didn't get one.

Ookii, I believe I got one at 1,500,000 but I'm not 100% sure and as for the 2,000,000 points I never got that high for the score so I don't know

I got extra lives at 500K and 1M myself as well, but I didn't at 1.5M or 2M. Unless the game gives out more later, those two may be the only ones given.

At either 2.5 mil or 3 mil they start picking up again.

I beat Trog tonight!  Played a full game just for fun ... now I just need to not die so much.    Think I made it to Stage 16 or 17 under the contest rules.

Having played with no regard to score, I believe extra lives are given at:
500K
1M
3M
5M

Didn't get any higher than that ... could be every 2M though.

EDIT:  Oh, one other weird thing that happened to me.  I believe it was Stage 9 with the teleporting rooms.  I accidentally triggered the warp and it was placed right in front of the door I needed to go through to get to the normal exit, and I had no choice but to warp.  :/

Just something for everyone to be careful of!

I had the same thing happen to me (warp opening up in front of an exit) and had to reset. Sucks.

Tip: To avoid the warps, just make sure you clear the eggs in the lower right part of every screen early on. The warp is triggered when you get one of those eggs last.

So I made it to Level 20 before I realized I could punch the bad guys...

Should make the game easier

^^^This.

Just now realized I could punch those effing Trogs.
"Dinosaur Pac-Man" is much easier knowing this, although I still feel like I do not have a good grasp on this game yet.

Also, if this game were to have an ESRB rating today, I'd give it an " M" for Mature.
- Animated Violence
- Gore
- Suggestive Themes (how much dinosaur sex was going on to produce this many eggs?)

Yup.  I spent a number of games thinking to myself... "this is like Pac-Man with tougher controls and random enemies".

COMPLETELY changed the game to know I could punch those assholes in the face rather than needing to freeze them or wait to eat them.
