Haha that's just 3D tetris! Looks cool though, I love it when people dump unreleased games

Hey everyone,

Here's how we distributed the ROM yesterday: Gameboy donor carts (that still work) with USB drives embedded in them. Breakdown: 22 gray, 4 gold, 4 pink, 1 black (went to Max Temkin of CAH), and one prototype.

Enjoy the game!

thanks steve!

are you planning on doing a cart release or do you have any objections to people making carts to sell?

Yes thanks. That's cool to see as I never knew of it outside of a taiwanese one I think that ends up on some pirate carts. I had the PC version back in the 90s and sunk a lot of time into it as it was just fun due to the added depth.

That's really great, I love seeing more of these. Hoping someone does a cart repro run.

Very cool! I've been looking forward to the ROM release for awhile. Thanks!!  If it ever gets released on cart I might have to buy one.  Thank you Mr. Steve Lin!

That's a tiny USB drive that has the ROM and a text file on it. The boards in the carts themselves still work, and are random donors from Japan. I've got Nemesis and Tecmo Soccer on mine!

I documented all the donor carts and there are some cool ones in there. Nemesis is definitely one of the better donors, there's also that RPG where you're a pachinko ball and the GB sequel to Kid Niki. Anyway, asked both at the show and here on whether or not I'm selling any: nope, not planning on doing any more.

If you want to make a cart... do whatever you want to do, it's out in the wild now. I'd be interested in seeing different takes on the box/cart/manual.

Here's my take. Based on the superior Megadrive art

I had to do quite a lot of cleaning and rebuilding on this one, the original art had text all over it!

I just don't know what went wrong!

I don't even own Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt yet!

Please help me begin my NES collection! I've already a Caltron 6 in 1, Cheetahmen II, and a handful of commons! I want to start with the rarest games! Bring me your Little Samsons, your Action 52s, your Panesians and your NWC's!

If you're going for accuracy, the NES label would have looked like the art from the arcade version, which was done by the same company (Technos):

http://flyers.arcade-museum.com/?...

In fact, the first version there is the same artwork as the flyer for the NES version given at CES.

It's actually pretty terrible. I'm not sure if sharing it is a good idea... Maybe if it was better?

What you literally just said is that if you think a game is bad, instead of just ignoring it you should intentionally try to erase it from history and make sure no one can ever play it.

Is that seriously how you feel? Do you even like video games?

Also this game is really fun in multiplayer. I didn't like it very much in single player, but I sat down in the retro console room on Saturday night at PAX with a friend and the prototype cart and man. That was a good time.

Meh. Hell with "accuracy". It's a game with many ports and just as many unique artworks. If I had the NES flyer scanned at an isnanely high resolution I could do a much-better job of it, and make a box as well. As it is, here's a phoned-in mockup of the Flyer-style.

Phoned-in Mockup. Not a big fan of this style myself.

Thanks Steve and Frank! Crazy how stuff like this still pops up at goodwill. Even more lucky that someone who knew it might be special bought it first.

Okay if anyone has he arcade/CES flyer, please come forward. If I can get a good scan (I mean, literally 1200DPI. I work in extreme resolutions but the results always turn out great) then I can clean up the text and rebuild to fit an NES label. There's a copy on ebay, but I am broke ATM or I would buy it. That would be a label I'd be happy sharing with everyone, rather than my shitty, halfassed labels here.
