hi
I was thinking of buying a nes toploader and came across one that isn't an origional one but it is cheaper and i was wandering if anyone knew if this would play pal games aswell. I know is says it is for the US but I thought it might be like the origional nes top loader that plays from all regions (well from what i've heard).

and also if it does then would i be able to use this to plug it in in the UK

is this link ok???

Retro bit which makes the Retro Duo we have here in the States claim to play all regions, but do have some compatibility problems with some select games on the NES side like light gun support and such. So in theory you shouldn't have much problems. On a side note I missed chance to buy a duo retro locally for 25.00 new in box but it was sold just minutes before I contacted the person.

It'll play PAL games on a NTSC TV, although they may error. It won't play PAL games though, although if you replace the crystal on the board and PPU and change/add a plug it should work, lol.

Then it should. Just get a NTSC NES Toploader/one with a disabled lockout and sounds good to me.

I can't get my toploader to work with my PAL TV, so be careful. The problem is that the TV output on this console is RF only, so you'd need an RF modulator to convert the signal to PAL. And those things are really expensive. The other option is to mod the console and install an AV output.

EDIT: Sorry, I thought you were referring to the official NES top loader... If that one has an AV TV output I think you'll be ok.
