You want to know the REAL reason why the "best" programmers couldn't program SNES games without slowdown?  It's because of assholes like smkdan who force ligitimately good programmers out of their community, just because any good programmer wouldn't beleive what they say with all faith no proof.  They all want everybody to program it their shitty slow way.  I bet this type of stuff happened back in the old days when the SNES was out.  All the good programmers were fired from their companies for not causing slowdown in their game, and that's why the few games that were actually decently programmed were not made by the "great" programmers at Konami or Capcom.

What a weird obsession to start fights on random forums then going here trying to bring attention to that. On my memory it is like 5th time already.

Maybe just make a good super fast SNES game instead, to prove your point once and for all? Oh yeah, that's sure more difficult than forum fights.

That happened back in 2008.  The only reason why I'm bringing it back up, is because smkdan never got what he deserved, and I had to wait so long for him to go away.  I was always blamed for the fight he started.

There is exactly one relevant post by someone else. Who did he force out?

He forced me out, and this isn't even the only time he's been a complete dick to me.

I certainly remember the name "dragonboy" from Sega-16. I can see a common underlying problem in both instances, you get angry too easily. Nobody listens to someone who is raging about their end of an argument. smkdan knows what he's talking about, he's been a great help to the Neo-Geo community in the past as well. He clearly knows the 68k very well, it's entirely possible that's why he isn't as good at the 65816.

I think this is more of a "you" problem. Instead of getting angry, you should get even by coding proof that the SNES isn't slow.

Well, I've already been doing that for the last 8 years. I'm frustrated that I haven't finished a homebrew games yet, and if it weren't for the people from Sega-16 and smwcentral, I wouldn't have been working my ass off programming.

I read the first few posts and it seemed like obvious stuff about optimized native machine-language code versus compiled code from a higher-level language.

Marked for later...

This is the third forum I've seen you trying to spread that old flame on. It's really time to move on.

No, dickface. Smkdan was the one who kept bringing it up. Stop being a fucking troll!

You're the one who seriously need to move on with your life and STOP CARING ABOUT SHIT FROM THE PAST!

So, I don't really see what good this thread is doing, so I'm locking it.
