Didn't someone do one of those that looked just like it but did the following:

RetroAVS
Advanced Video System

To give it that old school feel, but stay true to the product?

Hi ,

I did get this decal from the seller in greece on ebay. I didn't spray it with varnish. It is not needed.

Can you tell us how you applied the decal? I see that it's not peel and stick. Is it a rub on?

Maybe it's like model airplane decals, where you apply a little bit of water, then rub against it to ensure it adheres?  That might explain the thinking behind wanting to hit it with some lacquer/varnish afterward, to ensure it stays put.

Actually it is peel and stick. But because all the letters are separate, there is a "backing" on the front. So you peel off the rear backing. The sticky side of the letters is now exposed. Then you apply the front backing with the letters to the avs. Press firmly with your finger or roller and then carefully remove the front backing, making sure that the letters don't come off.
No kids around here, so it should stay put. :-)
