I get down on Saturn shooters! I'll have to try and set some scores this weekend! If we're doin any shooter scores i have a few for ya'll to try and beat! Hardest would probably be my soldier Blade main game high score as its pretty high but have a couple others handy i'll post. I usually just take a new pic when i beat one of my old scores so heres a few to start!

Lords of Thunder 1CC-1,563,770 (Sega CD):

Dead Moon 1CC-1,928,100:

Air Zonk-8,418,860 (Didnt Finish but Highest score, still havent beat this game but will one of these days! :/):

Added the new scores to the first page! Good job Brock and D~Funk!

D~Funk, can you confirm I got the right system for the games you posted? I didn't look up the consoles for each so assumed based on your saying Sega CD for the first one. Let me know if the rest are not Sega CD and I'll move them around!

I wish Abadox wasn't so stupidly hard. That game could be really great.

Like, when I can't even get past the second part of the first level WITH a game genie, that's ridiculous. Losing your power ups makes the game virtually unplayable. Maybe I got to the first part of the second level.... that could be it.

I had high hopes for that game.

In an old thread about games to beat in easy 30 minute sittings a few people mentioned Abadox. Pfft.

Edit:  Actually, I think that was the first thread I ever posted in.

It's largely about memorizing where the sudden enemies are. Also, dying once you basically may as well just start over lol. It's a really interesting game though so I wanted to highlight it.

Yeah, no doubt... but I can't even get to the point where I can see new enemies! Haha...

That's one of the best games that I hate. Yup. New category: Games you want to love, but absolutley hate.

Would you guys consider Abadox or MUSHA the more difficult game? I get absolutely destroyed in both but I actually have fun playing MUSHA.

Musha. Abadox, like I say, is more about memorizing a few cheap enemies positions. Musha requires a more consistent amount of skill.

Yeah. I can see that. And I always make stupid mistakes in the second level of MUSHA because I keep running into the damn walls.   I should go home today and play a bit of that and Space Megaforce.

I'll see if there is a local copy of Abadox today, otherwise I'll have to wait for next month's game

Hey, what's the shmup scene on Dream cast like? I have a chance to pick one up relatively cheap. Also, is there an everdrive sorta thing for it?

I know there is Ikaruga on Dreamcast. Is that the pricey version? Or is the Gamecube the expensive one?

Hmmmm, I have it on GameCube. Not sure of the price on either console.

Once you get past "fuck-me-in-the-ass-ville" that is the downward zigzag passage in level 2, the following part of the game isn't quite as bad, at least for awhile. You just have to master the art of subtle D-pad movements.

You can play burned copies, no idea if that requires a mod or not... I wanna say no. Plenty of good shooters on the system, many homebrews as well.

I think Dreamcast is import-only.  No idea on price.  GC seems to move between $35-50

It's also on Steam and XBL.  I don't have Gamecube cords right now but I could probably dust off my 360.  I can't touch savants like Gloves but my score was pretty respectable.  Top 1000 at one point I think.

I have it on XBL as well, but never really played it because I can't use my arcade stick on there.

Good job man! I've updated your score on the first page. FYI from now on, just put your new score info into your new post, so I can reference it more easily.

Here's my piss poor showing at Zanac.   It's 623,620 on area 4. No mode or difficulty level is available in the game.

That fourth level is just a meat grinder.

edit: Dammit, the post-it with my username fell off.
