Couldn't agree more. The Moon & Antarctica is a brilliant album. For me its always been The Lonesome Crowded West though.

While I agree that Modest Mouse's best stuff was done prior to the Moon and Antarctica, I have to say that I think that Good News For People Who Love Bad News and We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank are both very good albums.

The Lonesome Crowded West probably has the best songs, but that album in itself is much too long and the songs don't all fit together perfectly like a great album should (Moon and Antarctica is a good example of an album that does flow very well from song to song). I think their last two albums, while maybe not having the best songs, are really good albums as a whole. Minus a few ridiculously stupid tracks like "Dance Hall" I think they're strong.

Anyway, I'll get off that soap box now.

I just got back from an Eisley concert. So I'll say Eisley.
