Hello everyone, my name is Elias. I recently discovered Nintendo Age after listening to The Assembly Line podcast, which I quite enjoyed. Previously, I only listened to Retronauts, another great podcast. I've only heard the 1st episode, but it was quite informative about Battle Kid. I have a small nes collection of around 20-30 games, which I hope to expand a bit someday. I'm finishing up college soon to get a BS in computer science. I do a little bit of indie game development when I have time. After learning some assembly for a couple of my classes, I'd like to try my hands at a small nes game at some point.
I've played some nes hacks in the past as well as a couple nes prototypes and homebrews. I'm interested in learning more about nes game development. I realize it's tougher than working with GameMaker, Unity, Love2d, etc. for making retro games since making a real nes game has much more restrictions, but I think it would be a good learning experience. I'd also like to test out other people's nes homebrews and provide feedback. I don't know for sure how much time I will have during school, but I'd like to give it a shot regardless.
Overall, I'd like to become part of the NA community. I have a lot of respect for solo developers/small indie teams who churn out amazing games, homebrews, hacks, translations and the like. Thank you
