Generic
You are Phantom Ganon, an Independent Player.
You are a phantom beast who was created by Ganondorf in his own image. You reside within the Forest Temple, guarding it solemnly. Now, Ganondorf has enlisted you as a member of his Wolf pack to destroy Hyrule! However, you are tired of living your life as a pawn, and that is why you have turned traitor.
Role: Betrayer / Neighbor. You are a Double Agent Wolf. This means that every other Werewolf believes you are a normal fellow Werewolf, and you may talk at any time during the game with your fellow Wolves in a separate private topic. Your fellow Wolves are Ganondorf, the Alpha Werewolf (Dragonite31533), Volvagia (Commander Santa), Morpha (attakid101), Bongo Bongo (JaxsBox), and Twinrova (MrWunderful). During the Game Night, you and your fellow Werewolves must come to a conclusion on who to kill.
However, you do not have a Wolf win condition. Your goal is to kill every other player besides yourself. Also, while you may aid the Town in any way you wish, you must never claim who the Werewolves are in the public thread (e.g. “So and so are the Werewolves and I can prove it!”), for if you do your fellow Wolves will pull the plug on your Phantom life and put you into the void between dimensions (killing you.)
You are also a Neighbor with a fellow player, stinkerhubbin, (who is not a fellow Wolf.) You may communicate with them at any time during the Game Day only in a separate private topic. You are secret pen-pals with this player, and know nothing about them, including their role, abilities, and alignment. You must also not mention anything directly about the Werewolves’ identities in your secret conversations with this Neighbor, or both you and the Neighbor will be killed instantly.
Lastly, you will gain an additional hidden ability if and when you remain alive while all other Werewolves have been killed….
Hidden Ability: Vigilante. You are now a full-time Vigilante. Each night, you may PM me the name of a player, and, unless otherwise blocked, you will kill them. This attack is counted as a vigilante kill and will not connect you with the Werewolves in any way. You have henceforth lost your ability to Wolf kill, and will use Vigilante kills now instead. You still have your other abilities, such as your Neighbor ability.
Win Condition: Kill all other players.
As the five townspeople collected themselves, they noticed one Townsperson, ZeldaFan042, to be holding the two blood-soaked swords. Everyone gasped, especially buyatari2. “ZeldaFan, I don’t understand… we’re both Townspeople… why does it look like you’re a vigilante?”
“I have some serious explaining to do” said ZeldaFan. “I am a vigilante. But I’m a vigilante for the Town! If you look back at my kills, they were very sporadic. That’s because I could only bring myself to kill someone when I felt like I had a good idea of what I was doing, such as after we lynched a wolf. I tried to kill suspicious people, such as Ferris Bueller and Vectrex… I’m sorry if I scared any of you with my killings, and I’m also sorry I’ve kept this a secret for so long, I just knew that if I came out with the ability you guys would kill me instantly.”
Buyatari2 came forward and put a hand on ZeldaFan’s shoulder. “It’s okay. As long as you’re a Townie, that’s all that matters.” ZeldaFan looked up at his mason partner happily, “Thanks partner.”
“But wait…” said doner24, slowly stepping forward, “if you’re the other vigilante, then does that mean…?”
There was suddenly a large, booming light, like a reverse lightning bolt, that shot towards the sky. Fantastic, glowing bulbs that looked like fireflies suddenly rained down on the remaining villagers. The next thing they knew, knowledge and memories came flooding back to them, like a dam was suddenly broken and the river continued to flow all at once, everyone’s facial recognition came back to them, the memories of Hyrule, the senses they were once used to. The spell had been broken. The villagers looked at each other and started breathing heavy, as gasps of relief filled their lungs. They recognized each other all right, and everyone around them was surely good.
Doner24
You are the Diving Instructor, a Townie.
You are a Zora who teaches diving lessons to worthy challengers in Zora’s Domain. In light of recent events, you have decided to help the Town in any way you can.
Role: Vanilla Townie.
Win Condition: Town Win.
Buyatari2
You are Aveil, a Townie.
You are a high-ranking Gerudo in charge of the Gerudo Fortress. In light of recent events, you have decided to help the Town in any way you can.
Role: Mason. You are a mason with ZeldaFan042, a fellow Gerudo thief. You are both Town-aligned and have a Town win condition. You may communicate with this player outside the main game thread in a specific private topic.
Win Condition: Town Win.
ZeldaFan042
You are Nabooru the Sage of Spirit, a Townie.
You are a Gerudo sage that protects the Temple of Time. Now that the Goddesses need you, it is time to do your duty.
Role: Mason / Vigilante. You are a mason with buyatari2, a fellow Gerudo thief. You are both Town-aligned and have a Town win condition. You may communicate with this player outside the main game thread in a specific private topic.
Additionally you are a part-time Vigilante. During the Game Night, if the Town lynched a Werewolf during the previous Game Day, you may PM me the name of a player. You will follow that player, and unless otherwise blocked, kill them. You do not need to kill a player even if you have the option if you do not wish to.
Win Condition: Town Win.
CLAYB1RD
You are Link, a Townie.
You are the Hero of Time. You possess the Triforce of Courage, and now it is time to use that power to help save the village.
Role: Ascetic / Triforce of Courage. When your mother died, before leaving you with the Great Deku Tree, she blessed you. This blessing protects you from any and all Night Roles used on you except for Wolf Kills. This means you are completely protected from Tracks, Vigilante Kills, and more. However, it also means you cannot be affected by any positive Night Roles either, including Seer Investigations or Priest Protections.
Secondly, you have the power of the Triforce of Courage. You may only use this power once per game. If you wish to use this power, PM me the name of a player who has died during the Game Night. The following game day, that player will come back to life (that player will have lost any and all powers they had before death and will act as a Vanilla Townie for the remainder of the game.)
Win Condition: Town Win.
Stinkerhubbin
You are a Kakariko Guard, a Townie.
You are a guard who protects Kakariko Village. You a proud and honorable man, and you have vowed to help the Town in any way you can.
Role: Neighbor. You are neighbors with Generic. You are private pen-pals, and know nothing about each other, including each other’s role, alignment, or abilities. You may, however, communicate during the Game Day only, in a separate private topic.
Win Condition: Town Win.
Soon after, it finally hit the villagers: it was finally over. The nightmare was over. The memory of SAG26 also came back to the Townies, may the goddesses let his soul rest in peace.
SAG26
You are Rauru the Sage of Light, a Townie.
You are a Hylian sage that protects the Temple of Time, now that the Goddesses need you, it is time to do your duty.
Role: Detective/Old Man. Each Game Night, you may PM me the name of a player. There is a 50% chance you will receive all information about that player’s role, including an exact copy of their role card, their nightly abilities, and alignment. However, if you attempt to discover a player’s role and fail, a public announcement will be made during the next Game Day’s update explaining your failure with a clue that may assist other players in discovering your role. Please note that you do not need to use your nightly ability if you do not wish to do so.
Secondly, you are the Old Man. By the end of the third Game Night, even if you are still alive, you will die of old age. If you remain alive by the morning of the fourth Game Day, you are allowed 24 hours to make one final post (these are your last words). As soon as your last words are spoken or 24 real-life hours pass in the fourth Game Day (whichever occurs first), you will die.
HIDDEN ABILITY: Spectre
Once dead, you may send one message per Game Night of 20 words or less to Link, a fellow Town-aligned player. That player will be aware of who you are while receiving these messages.
Win Condition: Town Win.
Moderator’s Note: Because SAG26 was killed by the Wolves instead of his natural Old Man death, he was unable to use his Spectre ability or post any last words. SAG was completely unaware that this hidden ability ever existed, due to his untimely death.
A large booming voice, the voice of the Goddesses, suddenly fell over the five remaining villagers. “Congratulations, young heroes, you have successfully ridden our world of evil. You have saved our creation, and for that we are truly grateful.”
Some villagers went to speak back, but before they could get a chance, their vision was blurred by an extremely powerful source of light. The next thing they knew, they were back in the Temple of Time. The five of them, standing there, back in the real world, Ganondorf and the evil threat gone, the nightmare of the past eight days, finally over. They were obviously happy to have survived, and glad that they were able to stop the evil from consuming the world, but there was still a sense of solemnity to the picture, for 20 people had just died, either directly, or indirectly, by their hands.
ZeldaFan042, or rather, Nabooru, the Sage of Spirit, was the first to speak. She approached CLAYB1RD, or rather, Link, slowly. “I’m assuming the people will expect you to lead them now, after such a disaster…you are the Hero of Time after all…”
“Yeah, I suppose so…” Link responded.
Nabooru was almost in tears. “I…I’m just so sorry…Ganondorf was one of us…and he…he did all of this… I just pray you can find it in your heart to forgive my people…”
Link grabbed her hand gently and reassuringly. “I don’t blame you Nabooru, I am simply glad to have you on my side. Ganondorf was an evil man, there’s no way you could have predicted what he was going to do…”
“Thank you, hero… I just wish there was some way we could make this all go away…and go back to the kind world we once knew…”
The other three villagers nodded in melancholy, universal, agreement.
Suddenly, there was yet another flash of bright light, and the villagers gasped as a symbol of the Triforce, that is, all three golden triangles, suddenly appeared and began to glow on the back of Link’s hand.
The Triforce…
Link suddenly smiled widely, remembering the power of the Triforce… it may grant the wish of any who poses it. Those with a righteous heart will bring Hyrule into an age of prosperity…
Link’s heart fluttered with joy before he reached a hand out to shake Nabooru’s.
“Maybe we can bring it back…” he said with a laugh.
THE END. THE TOWN WINS!
Congratulations to doner24, buyatari2, ZeldaFan042, Stinkerhubbin, and CLAYB1RD, as well as the rest of the Town, on assuming a Townie victory!
I just want to thank everyone who took the time to play this game of Werewolf. It wasn’t the smoothest of rides, so the fact that you all stayed with it to the end was very kind of you. I noted in the Graveyard thread that I expected this game to end weeks ago, but due to unfortunate circumstances it got pushed into my semester abroad, which exponentially increased the time it took to get the updates out. It is a lesson learned on my part and I will make sure to give myself a time cushion in the future so that this doesn’t happen again. Even so, I felt that this game was an extremely successful one, one with a lot of interesting moments for sure. Feel free to discuss the game here and let me know what you thought of it. I added a lot of new roles and changed other ones, so I’d like to hear feedback on what I should definitely keep and what I should remove for future games. If there is interest, I hope to host a third game in the summer, probably around early June. This will give me several months to prepare the game, and since it will be summer we most likely won’t run into the horrendous time problems we ran into this time. Anyway, I’d just like to thank you all again for making this game as fun for me as I hope it is for you. Cheers!
-Mitch
