Its just 6 mini games that you can beat in 5 minutes.

I need to google and practice that river jump.

I had to do it last week, only made the jump twice ever. I'd give it a 3 of 10 at best for the game overall. Lacking in the fun dept.

No, you only have to fight 6 fights. Glass Joe, Von keiser, don flamenco(major circuit), piston Honda(world circuit), super macho man and mike Tyson or Mr dream. The last fight you do not have to win but the other 5 you must win. If you look at the rules for this game, there are codes for each fight after Von keiser. Since glass Joe and vk are the first 2 fights of the game, you shouldn't really need a code for those 2. Hope this helps to clarify

The kickle cubicle story.

I got my NES with smb/duck hunt for christmas.
After christmas i only got new nes games at special occasions.
So when my parents took me to a toy store i made sure i picked the best titles.

Then 1 day another toy store sold all there remaining games very cheap.
My mom found out somehow and bought 2 games for me.
My mom knew nothing about nes games so she picked them out by looking at the boxart. ;-)

The games i got: kickle cubicle and robowarrior.
I would have never picked them out myself but i was happy with them.
Anyway this is my first score.

This is what quillavoie will do. ( read tournament : round 1 topic again and the battletoads rules)He will be maxing out the score at the end of level 3.

Tip for the underdog.

Even 1 life only wouldn't save this game.  It's not that hard to max out the score using that video's trick without dying.  I love Battletoads, but I'm afraid it's simply a bad tournament game.

Out of curiousity, what happens to these guys if they both max out on the same level?

While I've never liked the whole point racking thing, I can say while seemingly easy to do here, I've always sucked at hitting crows multiple times, hit 'em a few times then miss, tried to rack points on stage 2 back in the November 2009 contest and barely had much coming out of that stage. But the plus side, it got me to beat the game shortly after the contest finished (which was more my goal at the time since I had never beaten it before)--not the point racking, just the whole playing for competition of Battletoads.

And I disagree with the statement on a particular gamer's score never being a winner, now that the secret is out for him, he could just spend all his time now playing stage 2 over and over again. Practice makes perfect, and he could max it out very early in the game if he tries hard enough.

Me, personally I would have made this a contest of distance with 1 life. Even though I'm sure there are a few that can get to the end or close to it without dying. Still, it certainly would be more challenging. Anyway, week is half over, got plenty of time, I'm rootin' for the underdog---not because I have any problem with a pro staying on top of his game, but I like to see one that isn't quite the master improve his game, and know the sense of accomplishment to be such a wonderful thing.

I'm not sure if you meant to be rude with that or not, but if you watch Andy play his games, that  dude gives a lot of determination when playing, and now that you've showed him a trick, he'll definitely pick up a maxout score. The dude is like a savant at times

No man,

It's not meant rude at all.More funny
I showed him the trick so the picture doesn't matter at all. (get it)

I saw Andy play smb3 and the man showed determination.
So i knew he would do it again .

I looked at his score and thought : What are you doing ?
This level 2 trick was already talked about in round 1.

Uhm how do i say this without being disrespectful/misunderstood ?

I think quillavoie is a better player than Andy.
Andy showed so much determination in his games in the first round.
So when i saw his battletoads score and his comments that he spend hours on it.
I felt sorry for him.
I found it only fair that a underdog that missed a important clue(that was out in the open) got the information he needed.
I felt responsible because i put battletoads on the list.

sorry for the mess i made.I apologize if this is against the rules i just let my gaming heart speak.

It's not about crows.  It's about deaths in lv3, 4, and 5 meaning unavoidably REPEATING points.  So if you intentionally die, you can max it sooner.  What are they going to do time their deaths so they die earlier in the level when it hits max?

Andy is currently exiting stage 2 with 400-500k points, a huge improvement over his previous scores and (with 1 life only) a contender in the contest.  There are simply not that many points in the subsequent levels unless you die on purpose.

Sorry I know I'm not even in this tournament I just love the game and want to see a fair battle.

Is why point racking never sat well with me. Too many times there's some trick or two that once learned makes it all too easy to collect. For instance Castlevania, one of if not my all time favorite game ever, I love this game, but hate playing for points, why, because of the boomerang, proper use of it can net some awesome scores very early, rolling it well before even reaching the last stage. But the most ambitious player will look for those niche opportunities that most won't think about. But once the info is passed around, then its all about who will rack up max score before or on an earlier stage than the others. Even though not a favored means of playing for me (kinda takes to fun out of playing the whole game since the goal would be achieved well before beating it), still requires great skill, especially with tough competitors. Will be interesting to see what stage the earliest maxed score will land on for Battletoads.
