I expect both bert and tables to post higher scores than me. Tables might use a guide. Bert the human cyborg probably doesn't need one, and then he'll talk about how easy it was.

It is a much better game than people give it credit for.

Rygar is a huge glitchfest. It's almost as broken as Super Pitfall but it plays well.

Now I regret skipping Mega Man because I'd have a decent shot at the platform title.

I've memorized most of Super Pitfall. Unless I'm truly stumped, I try to only study the online maps when I'm not playing. During actual gameplay I rely on memory. I think this approach is a decent compromise for a high score contest. To get the highest score you do need to know where the items are. But constantly checking a guide as you play is kind of cheap and takes some of the fun out of it.

The Angry Video Game Nerd says to ignore the gold bars because they're only worth points. But he neglects to mention that you get extra lives from points! If you want to beat the game without cheats then you'll want to collect as much treasure as possible.

You can't duck and shoot, but you can jump and shoot. Thus there is often another way to kill the spiders and scorpions.

He also should have read the manual. That's Harry's niece that you rescue, not a princess. But considering that saving the generic video game princess is such a cliche on the NES, that's an easy mistake to make.

I just wanted to put up a modest/slightly decent score and let the chips fall where they may. I've won enough in the past that I don't really need this one anyway.
