My latest posts are at the END of the thread.  The date of the newest one is written in the summary.  Scroll to the end to see the latest, thanks!  :-)

_______________________________________________________________________________________

I sorta hit the jackpot today, and am still high on adrenaline from scoring and going through this stuff.  I'm going to be keeping a few things and selling/trading the rest, so feel free to PM me if you see something you're interested in.  There's a LOT of interesting things here, and many of them are WAY outside of what I collect, which is mostly only CIB nes/snes/gb/gba.

So I got:

3x Sega Genesis
Tray-load Sega CD
Top-load Sega CD
Sega 32x
Playstation 2 with hard drive, network adapter, FF XI installed
Playstation 1
Xbox with replacement translucent blue case
Sega Saturn (no hookups but I think I have all but controller)
NES system (more on this later)
NES Top Loader
N64 with expansion pak & Game Shark
Nokia N-Gage

(Plus not pictured: cords and controllers out the ass, including some for things not even included yet no Xbox or Saturn controller..)

PC games: Schizm, Diablo II & Lord of Destruction expansion, Warcraft: Reign of Chaos collector's edition, Warcraft Frozen Throne expansion, Star Trek Armada (missing cover) & Birth of the Federation (disc only), Soul Reaver, City of Heroes.  PS2 Dragon Quest VIII DEMO - new, Rule of Prose soundtrack selections x 2, Full Metal Alchemist - 4 episodes, Generation of Chaos soundtrack (new).  There are some loose Sega CD games including Night Trap, and a Jimi Hendrix CD that I know I will be listening to

Double Jump Books brand guides: Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow, Persona 3, Disgaea 2 (x 2), Makai Kingdom (also I have 2 artwork books for this), Phantom Brave.  I have a Tales of Legendaria art book, and the following Brady Guide books: Romancing Saga, Xenosaga 2, La Pucelle Tactics

a bunch of shit Genesis games
a bunch of Atari games including Mr. Do!, Star Trek Strategic Operations Simulator, FAst Food, Gremlins, MAD, Spider Fighter, Astroblast, Lock N Chase, KoolAid Man, DK Jr, & Ram It.

some other Gameshark
a Wavebird controller
Final Fantasy XI online
MK II game gear
2 GBA boxes
Dragon Ball Z card game
Superman in Action Comics - covers, volume 2 book
a quartz metronome
a Shimano fishing reel(?)
(as you can see, there's some random stuff in here)

I'm not even going to begin to name all of this stuff... it is awesome stuff, and most of it is new.  I'm familiar with some of it, some of it not so much.  Toys, pins, standees, cups, post-its, pens, styluses and lanyards out the ass.  Two things that I'm really excited about are the Nintendo pins and the Powerplay Saturdays Champion bling in the tin case.  The God of War and Final Fantasy displays are really cool.  Not pictured is a massive vinyl 'Destroy All Humans banner'.  And who could forget the 'Me and My Katamari' change purse?!

Oh yeah, did I mention that the NES system is 100% brand new?

Cost was really reasonable.  Honestly, I'd of probably paid what I paid for everything just for the NES......  so needless to say, I'm a pretty happy dude tonight!!

It's a Final Fantasy VII Advent Children 12ct Dispenser Hanging Sidekick, for dispensing DVDs.

Truly fantastic if you got all that for the price of the NES that's new more or less. Curious, what is that silvery square (Nintendo) thing anyway?

It's definitely new, though I think the controllers and control deck were lifted out before.  I looked inside the deck to verify and it is indeed new.  Really excited to have this!

That is the Powerplay Saturdays Champion bling.  It's like a RUN-DMC style pendent & chain in a tin case with firm foam inlays.  I've never seen anything like it before.

Lots of random things in there. When I first saw the picture I was thinking maybe I can see if her wants to get rid of that CIB NES, it looks pretty nice, that was an understatement. Congrats on the awesome find.

Damn.  I had a great reply typed out quoting each one of you that asked a question and just lost it by hitting "reply" on the last one instead of "quote".  I hate that.

Anyway, thanks for all the kind words and here's quick answers to questions:

-----------

He did work at Gamestop in the past, and I know I just made his wife super happy and hopefully she gave him a happy ending to yesterday for getting rid of all this...

No other N64 stuff, unfortunately - not even controllers for that system or the Xbox or Saturn?!

Not selling the bling, Nintendo character pins, God of War stuff or NES at this time, but I will possibly crack on the bling and GoW stuff at some point, any info on those items is greatly appreciated.  I think you literally had to win a contest on a Saturday somewhere to get that.  It's HEAVY.  It is actual metal bling.  I will take better pictures soon; it's really cool!  The God of War thing has all kinds of stuff in it, I think it was the store's main kit for the launch of the game and has a bunch of name tags, etc., for employees to wear and an unopened DVD and more in it.

The Wavebird is gray, does have the receiver (not pictured), and I'm thinking $15 + shipping would do it.

I'm keeping this NES because I have a CIB system fetish, but I will probably be letting other ones go soon as I'm a little overloaded at the moment!

YES!!!  I LOVE epic hauls!!!  It was hard to pry myself away to go to bed.  Just the "controller cord knot" for this lot is about 20"x20" of knotted wires - no joke.  (Dude's wife is maniacally laughing somewhere!)

I don't think he was a classic gamer (more of a modern RPG type) so this CIB Nintendo didn't ever have the effect on his panties as it does for me - lucky for me.  The only sad part was him saying, "I wish I met you last week.  I just sold a Nintendo robot in the box for $65".  OUCH!!!

There's one of those bling necklaces for every GameStop/EB holding a PowerPlay Saturdays event. Anyway, I'm interested in one too.

Hmm... well like I said, I paid for everything what I "would've paid" just for the new NES, but what I "would've paid" is far less than what that's even worth.  Believe it or not, he was asking standard NES CIB price for the system!!  I don't think you can even buy a new PS3 for what I spent on this lot.  It was a REALLY good deal.

I won't be surprised if I don't come close to this one for a long time.  It's probably my 2nd best [video game] score ever, price-wise, but my best one involved an almost-complete black box collection, and spurred me to take on the name "8bitdreams", so that's some tough competition!

Since I know you guys can appreciate this more than anyone I know in my personal life, here's a quick tease of that deal.  The photo below was sent to me the day after Christmas, 2007:

A few days after receiving that photo, I found myself driving from Pennsylvania all the way to Michigan...... it was well worth the drive.  It wasn't cheap, but it was still a steal.  Here's another teaser:

It was amazing!!
