I thought the game was still in Beta?

Which version of the rom will this be? Also, pricing info?

How is that possible when the creator is still making changes to the coding today?

The thread below shows post from infidelity about changes he made earlier today, and changes he intends to have have completed later in the week.

Crud. :-(

Well thank you yet again for such a thorough video! It really did help!

I fixed all 3 issues reported.

Unfortunately the ocarina warping back is removed from the game. It was giving very bad results in regards to the palettes with the lantern asm. I spend along time years ago trying to have them coexist, but it just wasn't working, so I scraped that asm.

I hope to have v1.1 out some time this week, before Saturday.

Thank you again!

So please do not say that the final version is "in hand". That's impossible.
That said, I've ordered a copy of Mario RPG: Axem Rangers from Flashback, and it was of good quality. I expect this release to be of the same caliber.

I'm confused Br81zad. If infidelity says he'll have it done before Saturday, why is a Saturday at 8pm ETA impossible?

I think Br81zad's comments were in regards to the OP stating that they had the final version in hand, which is not the case because there isn't a final version as of yet.

Hello to everyone. Ryan from Flashback here. I wanted to chime in and clarify some things. First , I told Dan I had the final rom in hand and at the time I said that it was thought to be true. Infidelity and I correspond every day and at the time we thought it was done. That being said , a few glitches popped up concerning the quake medallion and a couple other small things. Infidelity has them worked out he is testing it all tonight. We discussed the release date and feel confident that Saturday night is more than enough time to verify the rom and tackle any small things that may arrise.

So , at this moment Saturday night at 8 EST is when we plan on putting the CIB Legend of Link up for sale on the site.

The server issues we've been having are now resolved and we are stoked to move forward with an amazing line of CIB NES &SNES games that we have been working on for a long time.

Some of the great members here on NA are contributors to these sets. They will all have their recognition on the manuals. The few of is here at Flashback are very proud of what they have accomplished and can't wait to show you all.

If you have any questions at all please feel free to send them my way.

Excellent, Ryan. I appreciate the clarification.

I'd imagine you all can expect a flood of orders for this one.

Will a Cart Only option be available Saturday as well, or will that come later?

That will have to come later at this point. This game is VERY difficult and expensive to make. The plan right now is to do a set of 50 at first then do a extremely limited edition of 30 for the holiday.

Will they be numbered?

The set of 30 will be numbered. Also , one thing I've thinking about the past few days was to have some COA's made up for the set of 50. I used to do projects for a company I ran a few years back and we would put these little 4"x4" COA's into the projects ad people loved them. I guess it's possible to get it done this week. Let me get back to everyone on this.

I got one too.

It's crazy expensive, but I also realise that it was crazy expensive to make and this will likely be the only way to play it on original hardware for any foreseeable future. Only one or two games that I know of could have been the donor, and they go for 60-70 bucks on ebay on a good day.

I like the look of the CIB edition too. The manual is apparently 50 pages or so, and the map is a nice touch. They put a lot of work into this one, and so did Infidelity. I can't think of a more impressive NES hack off the top of my head. A few of the Mario ones might run it close...? But until DahrkDaiz releases his sequel to Mario Adventure, The Legend of Link looks like the new king of ROM hacks. It really pushes the limits of the NES.

Version 1.3 of the game has been released. I believe bugs and glitches are still being fixed. There is at least 1 problem with the Ocarina that still needs to be sorted out. As much as I'd love to have this game on a cart right now, I'd prefer to have an actual polished final product.

The physical elements all look great (cart, box, poster, manual) but the game is not finished.

The game is all good. This was one of the reasons I asked for a little extra time to ship. Assembling 50 games and all takes a bunch of time but I wanted an extra day to give infidelity. It will be polished when it's shipped. We are making sure of that.

A few other things to point out , The map was designed by Eric here on NA ,as well as portions of the manual. He also designed two of the 4 posters we have made. The box art was designed by one of the great designers over at VGboxart.

A couple more announcement of things we are working on is a CIB Set of Southbird's SMB 3 MIX. Southbird's own brother designed the box and label. We also have a CIB set of SMW Omega which we are working hand in hand with the Author , Higsby , on. The box art for that game is designed by Jevangod and is simply amazing.

Thanks everyone for their support.

Will there be more Mario Adventure boxes too?

Any chance we can get a sneak peek of the inside of the manual for Legend of Link, by the way? I do love me a well-crafted instruction booklet!

Thanks for the update Ryan. I'll be ordering one. It just looks so damn good.

And I wouldn't mind waiting even if Infidelity needs an additional week.

I'm with Br81zad; take all the time that is needed to ship, as long as it's all completed and finished.

Since this requires 2x27c801 and a MMC5 with 8KB of SRAM, I have to wonder if they're using a custom MMC5 board or are using some rare MMC5 donor boards ?
