FF Legend is done, first time was with the chainsaw but second time wasn't too tough. For such a weird game, I'm impressed by how well the simple story grips you and gets you into the swing of things. One room really confused me, but I won't spoil it here. It wasn't in the main plot I don't think. Either way, another one down. Maybe golf or mini-golf next.

They don't even make cameos in the levels.

I should have Bugs Bunny's Crazy Castle done in a day or two as well!

If you had fun with this one, try Ren & Stimpy Space Cadet Adventures.  They are very similar games.

I've owned that as a kid, but still haven't gotten around to beating it. It's been a long time since I've played it, but I liked it a lot back then -- enough to make it a "milestone" game in my quest to beat every GB game. Only need to beat about 100 more before I can conquer that space madness!

Finished Battle Unit Zeoth this morning before work, was a pretty easy game given the unlimited continues and that there were only 5 stages in the game. Unfortunately I did not get a screenshot of the "congratulations" screen which actually had a pretty nice movie moment. I feel like if the game had received more resources, then it might have been a really standout gb game. As is however, it doesn't sell much on other than being a pretty easy score attack game with a cool robot theme.

Got not one, but two more for ya. First off, worms is done. Took me a little to get the hang of it as I'd actually never played a worms game before, but now I'd say I'm decently hooked. This one having pass and play should make it a killer addition to any gb library.

Also done is the long-awaited Golf, finally I managed to hit under par on the US course, scoring a -2 after what feels like hundreds of attempts. Feels really good to finish this one after so much struggle. Guess now I need to look into the other golf games on the system, hopefully they aren't even more difficult!

A decent enough game with good music, but it just drags on and on... It'd be much better if they made it shorter and added some bosses, because there aren't any.

Two more games done. Last night I finished Itchy and Scratchy Mini-Golf Madness. It wasn't too hard, just very tedious. In order to survive, you had to basically inch across the levels, finding the nasty Itchy waiting for you just out of sight, and then you have to quickly handle them as they begin their attack. It's mostly inching across stages followed by quick reactions. The minigolf itself is actually somewhat unimportant to finishing the game; Scoring under par is merely a way to get extra lives. That said, once you finish the 9th hole, your performance on each hole, if good enough, gets recorded as the lowest score yet on that hole. Strangely it allows you to name each new score record on each hole, despite the fact that if you just finished the game and had multiple new score records, then you'd probably just put your own name on each one, and it makes you retype the entire thing each time, so good luck if you have a lot of new scores as well as a long name. All and all, not too bad of a game, but not something I'd play much for leisure myself.

Also finished is World Heroes 2 Jet, following the trend from the GB King of Fighters game I played, the AI is just really a joke here. I basically spammed my way through with punches and throws (I picked Ryoko, a judo fighter). I do think the bones of the game are good though, it plays smoothly and has a lot of attacks and characters. I just think you are better off sticking to 2-player if you play this game. Also, I like the characters and their themes/artwork, they went for a weird variety of different places/people around the world and throughout history as inspiration. The sprites are expressive and very nice-looking despite the low resolution. Really solid and seems like a real accomplishment for game boy.

Battlezone / Super Breakout is done. Complements to Battlezone, it looks great in Super Game Boy mode. I will also say that this version feels way easier than the 2600 port (my personal favorite home version that I've tried), part of why this was a fast, easy clear.

On another note, I haven't posted a win screen in a while. The problem seems to be on my end, I can't upload any more images to NA, despite having ample room left in my utilized space. I will try again, maybe this weekend, and see if I can't upload some back images.

Finally, I am amazed after trying it that anyone has finished Simpsons: Escape from Camp Deadly. The game feels almost insultingly bad in multiple respects.

Yeah definitely! I'm sad that I didn't have it growing up, would have been an awesome way to pass the long car trips.

Btw Splain, I noticed that while I think the points were tallied for it, that faceball 2000 was still marked as unfinished. Wanted to poin that out since I noticed.

doh, thanks and sorry. I'm definitely missing things, so nobody hesitate to point it out!

I'm really trying to get through Krusty's Fun House, which I started in January, but for some reason I'm just not having a good time. There needs to be some sort of default weapon with unlimited ammo, that would make a big difference. I don't even want to see what the later levels look like.

Great work on getting all those done! I'm still planning to finish Motocross Maniacs. I've gotten through 5C, but was pulled away for a couple weeks for work stuff and haven't been home to try much more. These "Crazy" levels are tough, but hopefully in another week it'll be done?

Hey thanks, I guess I just finally had a breakthrough on them since most had been open-ended nightmares for a while. As for motocross maniacs, I feel your pain. If it's anything like the other konami games I've played on gb, then it inevitably becomes a game of grinding your skills to absolute mastery before they let ou see the ending. Castlevania Adventure basically made me like it through sheer Stockholm syndrome in that way.

Speaking of another game that looks that way, I expect to suffer a lot if I decide to go back to Castelian, that game is just unforgiving! You can tell they wanted to make sure you played for a while, reminds me of a lot of 80s euro PC games in that respect (and by extension, games made by former euro pc devs, like rareware for example).

The flying mouth monster's hitbox disappeared and I couldnt kill it or be killed by it so I had to turn it off. This stupid game

I'm well into Battletoads too now. Yes, the bladelevel is annoying, but I can push through it by losing some lives if I have enough. It helps running through it quick and hope for the best. Its the next level I'm sort of stumped on now. Not because its extremely difficult in itself, but because it has such a ridiculously short timelimit I'm a little bit confused how I'm supposed to do it.

Motocross Maniacs is done! I know it doesn't look like it from the image, but that's my time for 8C. I didn't capture the Game Over screen since it's the same as when you fail. Of course, all the screens for qualifying look the same too.  I thought 8C was actually pretty easy compared to some of the others. I spent the most time on 6C where you really have to play it perfectly to win. I fell a few times in 8 and still managed to get through.  Overall, I enjoyed it as a kid and still enjoy it now.  Going for the toughest times does lead to some frustration, because the game feels buggy to me.  It seems like you can do the exact same thing 10 times, but get different results in 2 of the 10. For instance, I could make what I think is the same jump and one time I'll land just fine and progress and the other I'll fall through the floor a bit and crash into the ramp. Or one time I'll land and boost, and the other time I'll "land" but the boost won't trigger because I didn't land just right.  Maybe the issue is frame-perfect timing?  Either way, those "quirks" made the game more difficult than it needed to be since you not only needed the skill to pass the level but also the luck to not encounter any random glitch/bugs along the way (and they always liked to show up in that second lap).  I'd recommend the game to a casual player, but not at the C level of difficulty. Since the tracks are the same on A, B, C there's no reason to go through that unless it's for a project like this.

I beat 8C in the first 10 minutes of my time last night, so jumped right in to learning Jurassic Park.  Since there are no saves or passwords, I knew I wasn't going to have time to beat it, but I was able to learn the first 4 levels.  It's a better game than I thought it was going to be so far.

I managed to squeeze in some extra game time and now Jurassic Park is also done.  My time spent learning it last night came in handy because I probably wouldn't have had enough time to get through it otherwise. It takes about 2 hours to complete or maybe less if you know what you're doing.  I did have to continue and redo level 5 and level 6 pretty close to the end.

To compare it to another game I've already played this year, I'd say this is a better True Lies. They are both top-down, semi-maze like things with variety in their levels and weapons.  This one just does all of those things more successfully.  There's no inching forward and no major need to learn enemy patterns.  You can avoid dinosaurs pretty easily if you want to, although the jumping doesn't work very well to avoid getting hit.  The danger in the game comes from not knowing what to do next and having to backtrack through the gauntlet of dinos that respawn pretty quickly after you move out of range.  You have to collect a bunch of items (I called them eggs, but I'm not sure that's what they are) and getting the last one will drop an item that you then use to open a door, or use a computer or something.  The later levels can be long as you try several doors in different locations to find the right one.  You'll also see question boxes on the floor everywhere. Some give you health or a 1-up, and others will hurt or insta-kill you and some are hidden in bushes or behind walls. Eventually I tried to avoid them all to be safe.  I enjoyed the music in the game, but it rarely felt appropriate for the theme.  A bit too jaunty, I'd say.  I also don't think the game represented the movie all that well. You have to rescue the two kids, but otherwise no other characters are mentioned and iconic scenes are not there in any form (not even mid-level cut scenes).  Another big disappointment was that there was no final boss. The first two levels had "boss stages" (although I messed up on the T-Rex my first time.  Helpful hint: don't try to kill it and shoot all your ammo into him at once. It doesn't work and I couldn't figure out how to make him retreat without ammo).  The rest of the levels were pure objective-based and ended abruptly.  Still, a surprisingly good game and I'm interested to see how the other two will play.

Up next for me: Radar Mission

Hoping I can break out of it and spend a bit of time with the ol' Gameboy but may have to swap to a new game for a bit. I'm starting to see why some of these have never been beaten on the forum before.

Which Daffy Duck? I played Duck Dodgers a bit earlier, and it is pretty fast and loose to put it mildly.

From my experiences, a lot of them are also just really long and maybe not everyone's cup of tea, so it's rare to find someone that likes them enough to play them to completion. Like with GB Golf, not many people, I imagine, have my appreciation for 8-bit Nintendo Golf games, so it makes sense no one would have ever beaten it before. Other stuff is the same way I'm sure. But yeah, there are definitely some duds in the list that remain unbested.

Also, I finished Bust-a-Move 2 today, I tried for a while to get the puzzle mode, but it took a long time and I gave in. Turns out however, that failing on puzzle mode a lot makes you really good at arcade mode, so I went ahead and beat that mode instead. Was fun because I loved puzzle bobble, but was never any good at it. I think now I'm a lot better. Keeping the puzzle ball going, I've started up Tetris Plus.

I beat Donkey Kong Land 3 and had a blast playing though it. The graphics and sound are great for a gameboy game. It plays really well too. This was a late release Gameboy game from 1997. I didn't get 100% as you see by the bad ending. I might plan on going back to do so. I'd recommend this one to everybody.

I started playing Radar Mission last night, starting with game B. I know the requirements say you only need to beat it on normal, but the manual says that there are different endings in that mode for each score level, with Admiral being the highest. I'm making it my personal goal to get this "best" ending. After playing for a little while, it looks like Admiral is only possible by starting in Hard, because there are more ships and the point values for all of them are higher. However, destroying the fleet in each round (not destroying the submarine) wouldn't max the score out. So, I can see two paths forward towards getting the best ending: One is to destroy all but one ship and then go after their sub and hope I don't get hit. Two is to try to go as fast as possible to hope for a time bonus.

My question is has anyone here ever tried to get this Admiral ending in Game B? If so, what did you focus on to reach that 50,000 points? I'll play around with some theories more tonight, but I'm also not very confident in my abilities to destroy their sub so I'd love to hear any tips and tricks people have for that, too.

I did Yoshi's Cookie and Hatris. Need to slam out some EZPZ titles to get back in the swing of it. I actually played some Yoshi's Cookie 4-player last week while I was with family. With real hardware. The pinnacle of multiplayer technology!

Wow congrats! That is a tough one. I'm glad you were able to pull it off. I gave up on it. Haha. Now someone also needs to beat Quarth. I'm never going back to that either.
