Honestly I haven't even tried. Maybe you can't?

According to the manual, you can't steal a base until the ball has left the pitcher's hand.

Forgive me for intruding but I have to ask - can I expect games from any system other than the NES in these contests?

If you get really motivated to organize things (and I'm sure organizing these is a lot of work), and wanna startup an SNES one, I'm all ears

I'd love to but I don't want to promise anything if I don't know if I could keep up with it every week.

I think you automatically win if you have a 10 points lead in this game, right?

Well, you have to finish out the inning since the computer always bats last.
like Guts said, Mercy or Slaughter rule applies. Always need to finish out the inning.

Nice to see you back Caleb! Btw,not sure if you know but you have an small outside shot at winning the sports genre if you wanted to take a serious crack at it. Of course Bert is in the driver's seat though and will definitely look to lock this one up.

But, it is frustrating when you throw fast pitch in since some of the time you think you hit the ball on the sweet spot of the bat and you either pop up or ground into a double play. I hope Claybird competes this week 'cause I know he was looking forward to playing this one too. I'll try and see if I can post a better score this week.

I ended up taking this season off but I've been thinking about jumping into this week's game. I'm actually in the process of moving since my wife and I bought a house but I should be able to put up a score by the deadline

7 - 2 = 5

Score has gone up each night this week! I dunno if I can touch some of you Babe Ruths out there though! Thanks again to guts for the tips.

I'm not having much luck either. It seems like anytime you put up a 3+ run lead, the "NFL Blitz effect" kicks in. In one game, I scored 6 runs in the first inning only to have the computer come right back with three home runs on pitches that weren't even over the plate. Even with my current score, right after I went up 5-0 in the 5th inning, the computer immediately came back and hit two back to back home runs on pitches that weren't even close to being strikes.

I had a similar game the other day.  6 runs in the first inning, then the comp switched pitchers and slaughtered my at bats.  Once they went up to bat, it was homerun after homerun.  They caught up and I just reset the game then and there.

Right now I'm sitting on a 5 point game but I'm still motivated to try and do better so I won't be posting any pictures up just yet.

Yeah my only other games played I scored more runs but then the computer killed me to win big time. But don't get me wrong, I'm still having fun with it!

This game really could use a quit/restart game option since there's no way to start over without having to redraft your team other than intentionally losing.

Score update. I finally managed not to get NFL Blitzed by the computer. My pitcher still had some movement left on his pitches so I was able to throw inside and get three straight ground balls. I'm sure gutsman will come back with a higher score, but what's the tiebreaker since we both beat the computer via the mercy rule with the same amount of runs?

Good to be back even if it's a hot second. I highly doubt it consiering Bert's a very good player but you never know. I had a good score ready to go until the last inning when my pitcher just crapped the bed and gave up 4 runs (on 2 back to back HRs).

Just a quick note that when picking players the computer doesn't backtrack so if it passes up a player(s) you want just simply pick the players you want ahead of the computer and come back for the passed up guys later. Doing this should allow you to field a team with most if not all of the players you want.

I updated the tie break rule (earliest inning takes precedence).

Well, I wasn't able to procure a copy of this game, and I don't want to emulate, so I'm sitting out. I'll be in the next two weeks, though.

-------------------------
Thanks for writing. I apologize for the delay in responding to your email during this busy time of year.
In regard to your email, it is great to hear that you have found a copy of Perfect Dark for the Nintendo 64. Perfect dark was a first person shooter game that was released in May of 2000. I personally enjoyed this game a lot during my mid-teen years since it allows for up to four players to play at one time. All the Perfect Dark cartridges were black.

I hope this information is what you are looking for.

-
Response I received from Nintendo customer support when I asked if they knew any thing about a black Perfect Dark cart.
