Are you excited about the SNES Classic and want one? Are you feeling a little skiddish and trying your best to suppress your hopes because you remember how the NES Classic Mini was handled? Well, let's help each other out and try to agree to distribute what we find. Here's how this will work.
This post is to assist us fellow NAers get what we want this time by helping one another out in securing one of these coveted puppies. If you want to buy a SNES Mini at a reasonable rate then post your user ID below. I'll keep an updated master list and come September we can use this list as a reference as to who wants/needs one of these. But, here are the special rules that makes this viable.
RULES
1. Look for SNES Classic Minis once it's released.
2. If you find one, buy it for yourself and PM me. I'll take your name off of the list.
3. Find another one (or more) then work down the list of people who've not been crossed off and message them that you have a SNES Mini.
4. If they are able to pay for the item, sell the SNES Mini to them at cost (Sales Price + Taxes + Shipping)
5. BOTH Buyer AND Seller should PM me that the transaction has taken place so that I can update the list of buyers.
This is an honor-system service because the idea is that we're all agreeing that it if we happen to find more than one SNES Mini, we're going to share our finds with fellow NA members. I really want one of these but I suspect the same results as the NES Mini. However, if I find two I'll gladly sell the other one at cost cause I'm a good guy.
Yes, people could game this a little. For instance, someone could find 2x of these and not mention that. Then, someone could contact them with one for sale at retail, which they could then buy. Said individual would then have an additional two minis to scalp on Craigslist or eBay. Yes, that would suck but at least as a community we're trying to do something to help one another out rather than just let everyone fight in the retail shark pits.
FURTHER RULES & TIPPING
1. If you can't buy a SNES Mini when someone offers you one, you're name can either be removed or cycled to the bottom of the list. I know that September/November can be tight on everyone's budget but we need to keep things moving.
2. NA Members who want to participate must have had an account created BEFORE this post. The reason is because someone could come along, create multiple accounts and add themselves to the list multiple times. Sock puppeting will not be tolerated. (Also, see ADDENDUM #1)
3. I'm not opposed to sellers working out trades. Regardless, if a transaction takes place for a SNES Mini, please be kind enough to remove your name from the list.
4. TIPS are not required, but are recommended. I'm going to set a soft-recommendation of a $5 tip for the seller.
The list of participants will be below on the second post. I'm going to try and rarely edit this header, but additional notes and rule clarifications will be posted in the third post, below the list of participants. Please skim these notes if you desire to participate.
MODS: If this isn't the right place for this post, please LOCK the topic and let me know where to post it. I'll repost and link to this topic for full reference.
Sign me up. I like the idea. I was able to get 4 NES classics last December and ended up giving 2 of them away and keeping 2.
