On the NES, you have to do 9-5 on the B game of Tetris, as well as level 20 of Dr. Mario.  I believe they require high speed to get the best ending on the NES version of Dr. Mario, but the SNES one doesn't have endings for any of the settings as far as I can tell, so it shouldn't really matter for our purposes.
Interesting. I just picked it because it was sitting on the shelf and fun game to have a round of anytime.

Super Punch-Out! is done!

It's been a while since I played the game so Super Macho Man, Hoy Quarlow, and Nick Bruiser x2 all knocked me out hence the 4 losses.

If it needs to be a 20-0 run it can be, just let me know. Great game to play anytime. I love how some people keep up the trash talk during the credits even after you've beaten them, haha. Great stuff.

My Vancouver Canucks won the Stanley Cup in NHL '96, so go ahead and scratch it off. Incidentally, I forgot just how shitty the Canucks were back then...should've made a few trades before finishing the season

"It's always amazing to me how some of the most worthless games from a gaming perspective tend to fetch outrageous amounts of money. But then again, it could be said that something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. I'm curious if the high bidder of the $873.04 Stadium Events (cart-only) realizes that it's nowhere nearly as rare as about 20+ games I can think of that sell for 1/10th that amount?  At any rate, I wanted to draw attention to this trend: if people say it's rare, it must be true, and therefore it must be had at any price."

Acme Animation Factory is done. And since clicking a specific spot on the title screen is stupid to call that one beat, I went ahead and did what I figure should be done anyway - I played the "memory" minigame and actually finished a round.

EDIT: And with that, I've matched my record output for any specific year.  Any SNES games I beat now makes a personal best for quantity in one calendar year.  Considering I've contributed at least one game per year since the thread began, I think that's kind of cool

Works for me (I believe I was working from the comment in a previous thread), since that's about as hard as the Mario Learning games are

I'm not going to update the stats tables again until tomorrow but you are now tied for 8th all-time

On another note, it kind of bugs me that so many sports games are worth lots of points, so I actually bought a ton of them today. I want to knock a bunch of them out just to drop them from the high ranks

I'm inclined to agree. I'm not huge on pinball but it was terrible

After sacrificing 10 minutes of my life that I can never get back, I knocked off Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends. I think it might have been cool if I was 4 or something, but for an adult it's almost shameful to play it

Yeah my wife gave me quite a look when I did that one

Battletoads Double Dragon.  Knocked off over 10 minutes from last year's time.  One of the few games I couldn't help but do again

2nd place last year was 16 games. We already have two people about to pass that up. Pretty good omen for this thread this year.

Yeah, and I've already broke my personal best for games. Also just hit 41 points just by doing some cheap one-and-done games (many of which I needed for my own completion list, so I wasn't worried if someone beat me by seconds ). I'm also planning on doing a few games down the road that take some effort, but why not do the easy shit first, right

I just bought a LCD Thomas the Tank Engine game last night at goodwill.  Way to make me feel worse about it.

Question about Vegas Stakes. You get High Roller Status as soon as you get $100k. That however is not the end of the game. I take it you meant that you need to actually beat the game and not just achieve high roller status, correct?

$10million is the amount needed to actually beat the game.

Not exactly sure, I believe that is based on what WashYourFace claimed from last year. If $10,000,000 is the correct endgame I will update the spreadsheet and thread now. Thanks!

Thanks! $10million is the correct amount. I've beaten it before, and currently working on it for this year's thread.
