I kind of think it's the opposite. Because SNES has a separate processor (and memory) for sound, you can just throw a program in there and forget about it (for the most part). And there are some supposedly OK libraries out there that can do most of the work for you, like
SNESMOD (can play IT modules and sound effects as well).
So, nothing to worry about.
Neat. The composing part still scares me, it seems like it'd be a lot tougher to get music to sound really good. It's tough enough on the NES!
