Took me several tries but I got myself back into form. I absolutely love this game. I also love the fact that there is absolutely no music. Very unique!

After hours of practice and learning how to curve my shots better, I managed my first hole-in-one, and a bunch of pars and birdies. Those island holes are still a pain tho.

^Yeah,it's tough to predict since you never know who's good at what games plus what surprise gamers are going to come out of the woodwork to compete.

Now this looks weak compared to the field, but not bad for a second attempt I suppose!

Holy hell. Might as well award him first place right now and get it over with.

EDIT: OTOH, Brock the grinder will probably be around this score or lower by Sunday.

lol, oh I'm not even going to try and compete with these scores.  Just like real Golf I know when to walk away before something is broken

I usually don't play sports games, but I had this one as a kid and always sucked at it cause I didn't know shit how to play. After Toxie's tips and experimenting with the curves and wind speed/direction I finally figured out how to minimize strokes to make par, then it was determination after that to try to make under par. Then ofcourse, your tip on trying for hole-in-one on the 11th helped also.

This game isn't easy to play, and it's all about reflexes and figuring out the learning curve. Just like real golf.. practice makes perfect.

I will be happy with a +5 or less.......Then again every time I play my score gets lower.

Only played through 18 holes completely without resetting 3-4 times so far and lowest is a +13 so I have some work to do.

It's definitely not an easy game. You have to discern which club is the best to use for each shot based on the wind speed.

The toughest holes for me have been 12 and 13. On my -7 run,I pared both holes. (Missed a birdie putt on 13.)

I need to revise the putting onto the green strategy. If you are close to the green, use the putter. If you have a little   distance between you and the green, use the pitching wedge at low power.

If debating between a higher or lower club on a particular shot,in general you'll probably want to go lower as you definitely don't want to go out of bounds .

Did a little better last night.  I had a -13 going into 17 and 18, but blew it with some a double putt and an OB on 18 that should have been an eagle!  doh!

Got a little too excited for that Eagle huh Tusk? But seriously, I need to work on my A-game. All these ties are killing me!

Just a little excited I suppose.  18 is so tricky.  Makes or breaks a game.  Here's a birdie on it!  This should break the tie for a bit!

So I think this is my last shot at this. I played quite a few times with hella determination and made -17 55. I would have made -18 but that 18th hole.. bastard ball landed in a bunker. I worked so hard trying to make atleast birdie on each hole but if it wasn't the islands and all the damn water, it was the 18th hole bunker.

Awesome. -6 on 17 and I hit a +5. I'm incapable of not choking my ass off

And then another -6 where I triple bogey 16 and then just shut it off during 18 after the meltdown was complete

-5

Last night I had a weird dream about the contests that we were playing Human Cannonball for the Atari 2600 and going for negative scores like in Golf.

This is the game that Golf subconsciously reminds me of...
