Gonna throw this out, I got an email confirmation that Game.co.uk is preparing my Rosalina Amiibo for shipment. And my Rosetta from Play Asia is supposed to release on the 22nd, so I may have my hands on her "twins" before the official US February launch!!!

Entertainment earth now says "pre sold out" for the Pit, Little Mac, and Captain Falcon

"This item is pre-sold out and no longer available for orders. We are keeping this item on our website for informational purposes only. Pre-sold out means that all units we plan to receive by the manufacturer have already been ordered by our customers."

Hopefully thats reassuring that it sounds like they're only taking orders for what they're expecting to receive since it changed to pre sold out..... I keep hearing people say they just take unlimited preorders then cancel everyones when they don't have enough stock, and the fact that they've been on there since Late December I believe, It definitely seemed like it. Especially since they sell out within minutes anywhere else.....

Still not holding my breath but definitely a bit more reassuring it appears they're only taking orders for what they plan to receive.... I hope.... But all of them now say Pre-Sold out..... so I am not holding my breath

I'm beginning to get the impression that all these places selling preorders really have no idea how many they are going to receive. Then when they get short stocked, they just cancel 90% of the preorders they never received.

Toys R Us had tons of Bowser last night, seems like he will be a staple. They had a bunch of Toon Link as well, though not nearly as many as Bowser. Only very few Sheiks though.

I picked up a bowser and toon link. There were no Sheiks at my local TRU.

I can verify this, as I stopped in Toys R Us last night as well, and they have a TON of Bowser, a good number of Toon Link, and only 1 Sheik, which I quickly snatched up.

Bunch of Toon Links and Bowsers at my toys r us. They only got in 4 sheiks and 35 Lucario's. They won't sell Lucario until the 30th though.

Worker told me right when they opened some guy tried to buy all 35 lucario but luckily they stopped him from buying yet. I guess he is going to be coming back on the 30th but they said no limit. I hope this ass doesn't get all of them....

If they got 35 in and someone buys them all immediately, they'll send a restock order to Nintendo to buy more.  All this prospective scalping is going to do for him is make him sit on a bunch of inventory he'll be lucky to sell high enough to be able to recoup his investment.  Unlike with MTV, most people who were interested in Lucario or the other exclusives had the sense to preorder so most people that would be willing to pay scalper's prices for them will already have gotten them (at MSRP) so he'll be left with a bunch of inventory and nobody willing to pay for them.  And if it's true that one store got that many of them, chances are these exclusives won't be that rare anyway.

I don't think it would be in the best interest of the retailers to make the exclusives scarce, since the whole point of exclusives are to draw people into your store/franchise.  With no stock on the item that tactic wouldn't work.

Here's some advice. Get the 3rd party amiibos first. Nintendo could reprint the properties they own at any time in the future, but the ones for, say Megaman, they could lose the license for at any time. The 3rd party ones will be the rarest, mark my words.

As a caveat to that, if Nintendo spent the time and money to acquire a license for a character like Megaman, they're not going to want to do just a short production run.  They're going to want to make it worth their while so I don't see them being in short supply initially.

I went to my local Toys-R-Us today. Nothing from wave 3 on the shelf yet. It was all Wave 1 commons, and Luigi, Princess Zelda, and Diddy Kong from Wave 2.

I was told by a TRU employee that corporate sent an email stating that the 30th is the preorder sale date. If you don't have your preorder slip you aren't able to actually pick them up. The official release date is the 1st. So if anyone has one reserved I'd go in store on the morning of the 30th.

Went to my local TRU today, tons of Bowsers, an Empty rack for Toon Link, and no sign of Sheik.

I was just at TRU returning all the ones i impulse bought a few weeks ago(only kept falcon and fox since they don't have any good figures of them). checked and saw no new ones out at all and was told the first, and that some were already released this week.

If i go in again, i will check again for you guys and pick up any of the so called rare ones.

Wtf the wave 3 is out?! I don't even have a shipping confirmation from Amazon for my pre order...

lol yeah this stuff's slow. I'm still expecting two more Pits in the mail I ordered not long after Christmas

Lol.. I Ordered a Fox from Amazon CA before Christmas and it's not even shipped yet. Estimated delivery is next week so I guess it will leave soon!

I'm just surprised that wave 3 is already available, my local EBgames said it was releasing on January 30th. And this is what it says on their website.
 

i went to my local Toys R Us... everyone thought they had a street date of 2/1. When i asked if they would check the system they did and saw they could sell me Toon Link, Shiek, and Bowser.

They did also have Lucario but they were not able to scan him through. They told me they wont sell him till Friday the 30th as that was the computer sale date.

If you do not see any on the shelves I would ask nicely for them to check in the back

Yeah, I'm not liking these varied release dates for these things. It makes it hard to keep up with when they're all releasing an where.

Local TRU had Toon Link and Bowser (so I picked up Toon Link...I have a strict policy of only buying one Amiibo per day). No Sheik. The lady at the desk said that on the 15th, when all the TRU got a restock of Pit and Falcon, they were all cleaned out in 7 minutes. This shit's just crazy. Now to see if Toon Link activates the same way in Hyrule Warriors as regular Link does...
