Awesome. This is a good one.

Rules: Play till game over?

Edit, after playing a round...this game is hard as hell to get a shot of your high score. hmm.....

I say play until you use up all your lives, but no continues allowed (you lose your score when you use a continue anyway). Also, better be really quick with snapping off a pic of this one, or at least quick with the start button, after losing your last life you only have an instant, and whether you continue or end the game, that's the last you'll see of whatever high score you got. No high score table either (I looked, I waited around, nothing), this is certainly one where it'd help to record your game, just in case you miss pausing the game in time to take a picture. Otherwise, this is a fun game, very challenging.

Oh, fuck this. Damn, after having played it for a few hours, only ever making it to 21,000 something twice, managed to finally get my score up to over 30,000 and I fell over the edge of the pyramid and it ended so suddenly I didn't even have time to pause it, fucking missed my high score! Ugh! These people were assholes when they programmed this game.

Okay, not wanting to give up due to missing my high score, but still pissed off about it, I shrug it off and continue playing, afterall, if I can reach that score once I can do it again. And so I did, actually got well past it, over 50,000 points. Nice! The whole time I had my finger hovering over the start button to pause it, because if I would've missed it this time I would've surely said screw this game and took it out not to play at all, contest or otherwise.

Fun game, but boy did they really mess up not having a high score table. Unfortunately because of that, I'm not even going to do things as I usually do, logging every score, because most likely I'll end up missing a few more here and there, leaving me with all kinds of gaps with ? marks instead of known points, so from this point on, going to have to exceed 50.000 in order for me to even give it notice.

Hey bud, there's enough significant differences between the NES version and the Arcade version to allow only the NES version. Anyway, most of the peep here will play the Nes version, so we better stick to it.

Examples:
Different points reward for setting squares to the right color.
Enemies are faster in the NES version.
Different score needed to get an extra life.
There's no ending to the arcade version, it goes on infinitely. There's an ending to the NES version.

Agree?

Played a few more hours of Q*Bert. Ugh, this game is just so frustrating. I got some really high scores (I suppose, for me anyway), but most of the time I'd lose a life on the very first stage, that'd piss me off, I'd hit reset, and this trend would continue for several games or more, at least until I could manage to at least beat the whole first level without dying, and then suddenly I'd do really good, then next time total suck at it again. Plus, on top of that I missed getting one of my 50.000+ scores because I missed the pause button. Not sure if I'll continue to play this one, causes too much anger. As is, I don't know how I managed to pull off that 74.170, way above any of my other scores. I'll upload the video and probably leave it at that.

Q*Bert
high scores (only keeping track of anything over 50.000 points)

Well, good to see someone else is playing this. I thought my scores were just going to sit up here all alone.

Nice score nes king. I have a feeling, if you continue to play it you'll easily pass my high score. I haven't been playing anymore, probably won't, so I'm sure someone'll pass it. I suck at this game most of the time. For me even getting to 50.000 points is a rarity, and don't know where that 70.000+ came from, that was pure luck.

Nice scores everyone. Man this game is hard! Best I've been able to do is 11800. I could probably do better than this, but this game is so frustrating that I don't even want to try anymore.

Level 5 is pretty hard, but Level 6 is INSANE. If anyone got past 6-1, I tip my hat to you.

This game is one of those ones that's fun for just a little bit, but quickly gets annoying where I want to violently rip the cart out of my NES and throw it across the room, all it takes is dying just once too early in the game, but that's why I quit playing it, pissed me off too easily, some games just do that.
