SMS/Genesis Powerpaks? Wouldn't these be cool?

I've heard all about the Powerpak, and it sounds cool, but the collector in me says no. Homebrew Sega stuff has to exist, right? Wouldn't a Master System or Genesis Powerpak be cool? Anyone agree?

Definitely a worthy system. The Genesis does what Nintendon't, after all.

As far as the collector in you, owning a PowerPak won't kill him. Tell him that it will keep your collection from getting unncessary wear due to handling. Plus, if you have a large collection you don't have to physically locate a specific cart in order to play it. That just saves time.

I wouldn't mind having some games like Wily Wars, but Alien Soldier must make it to my Genesis console via whatever it takes. The game only was released PAL. Check out this video, it will flip your shit!

I would buy one, there are some Sega games that I really enjoy. For Instance, Streets of Rage 2

The Master System is EXTREMELY underrated, and it deserves revival. Alex Kidd was the mascot that never was. I hope one day, he RISES FROM HIS GRAVE.

Problem with SMS is that you could likely acquire all of the carts for cheaper than a powerpak.

There's also this one, essentially a Powerpak built into a Genesis controller:

I am not so sure.......some of those games get pricey. I am trying to finish my set and I can tell you I have spent  well over $150 on my games

This is what I see in the future. These clone systems will have cartridge slots as well as SD slots to play roms. That way you can play the cart if you have it, or if the rom doesn't work right .

I haven't looked at anything non Nintendo so I wouldn't expect a Genesis PowerPak for at least 2 years...

I meant loose carts.  CIBs you are correct.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that! The guy from Animal Style told me about it. It seems good.

I live on top of a rock, but it doesn't seem to matter either way.

I have that. It took a bit to get use to.. still has some bugs (sometimes gets stuck in scrolling), but ultimately worth it and a cool gadget to have.

Ah yeah, Joey showed that to me too. I think he actually used another thing for his album though... I can find out,
