I'm having trouble with photobucket on my phone so I'll post some times later.

I will have to redo Flamenco though since I beat him with the clock glitch in 13 seconds, which makes me very skeptical of any posted times similar to mine.

Glad to have you back gutsman004 !
Time to compete and put your mind on something else  :-)

You have to trigger a star with your first punch against Don to get hem down fast.

Nice I see someone got Kaiser down to the bare minimum basically. Good scores guys. Hopefully I have time after getting grades in to give this some more powa. Need to go against Flamenco (my first time was too high), Macho, and Tyson yet.

I'm hoping I can still knock a few seconds off of my overall and Mike Tyson times, but I'm getting close to the bare minimums unless I can get a lucky run in somewhere.

So far, of all times posted, there's at least 30 to 40 seconds that can be shaved off Super Macho Man.

@ bearcat-doug,  Yeah nice work! You got me beat by 10 seconds with your Von Kaiser and SMM times combined. Looks like I got some work to do!

Hey Kevin, can new guys get in this competition? I'm trying to get my buddy over here to put up some scores. In my opinion, he is the greatest MTPO player on the planet. I'd like him to test his abilities against everyone here.

I do want to ask, what is the clock stop glitche? I haven't heard of it before and don't think I've ever seen it in action.

Here is an example of the clock stop glitch. Notice how the clock stops at 0:48 and the fight continues.

Thanks. After playing this game for 25 years, I had never seen that.

Well, start from here:

Then look for a few posts up there and see my new strategy. It's time to hit times around the 1:30 mark for Macho.

This' the time I posted at the last time we played this on a weekly contest:

He's easy once you get the hang of the strategy. He eats star punches like cookies.

My new overall time is 6:50.09 after I finally got the timing right on Flamenco to get the star.

Next will be trying to get Von Kaiser down in under a minute. I used to be able to do that all the time, but now I don't know why I'm struggling with him.

Thanks for sharing that. I was watching these runs on Speed Demos Archive (http://speeddemosarchive.com/PunchOut.html#SS) and couldn't figure out how he was able to land some punches.

I played against Sandman for the heck of it. He wasn't as difficult as I remembered. Then I beat Macho Man for the first time yesterday after a few tries. I highly doubt I'd be able to beat him in one round, but I'll try a few more times. Played against Iron Mike for the first time and got obliterated, but at least I got to him.

Can I just not post any pictures and just take 9 minutes on each character? lol I don't want to show how terrible I am at this game. But yes, I can beat Glass Joe and Von Kaiser.

Can't wait to see your new time.
Unless I actually feel okay enough to try some runs this weekend, I will be sitting out of this one.
Just started on chemo and the side effects are being a chore. No way I can match my old times.

Good scores everyone. I need to post mine tonight. I did beat Flamenco legit at 15.82 of rd 1. I've got everyone beat in rd 1 but Tyson. I remember beating him in rd 2 a few times back in the day,but I never went in with any kind of strategy other than dodge and bash his face in. Looking at some walkthroughs has definitely helped. I'll watch the videos you posted as well Bea. Get better man!

Going decent so far. I have never actually fought Super Macho Man before, but he's pretty challenging. Not infuriating like Soda Pop though.

Here's a fun article to get people in the groove about what they're up against:

As someone said before,Macho Man is a star factory. And he really doesn't have much in the way of boxing moves. Hook,uppercut,2 types of spin punches, and that little back and forth squatting move followed by an uppercut that he rarely uses. Once you get his speed and timing down,he's pretty easy in my opinion. Definitely takes practice though.

Well, there's a reason I call him Super Bonus Stage Man.
He's likely the easiest fight of the Major circuit.

I shaved just short of 15 seconds off of my King Hippo time.  Suppose I'll see what I can do with Super Macho Man.
