FO/FT,

SNES Mini Bootleg system, complete in the box.  History on this is that I purchased it off of ebay in 2005 thinking it was the real deal.  It was a backup system as I already had an SNES, but when looking closer at it recently I discovered that this was indeed a bootleg/copy.  However, I ran about 5 different games through it and they all played fine.  The controllers are actually decent IMO and everything else is just as good.  It was a good copy, to say the least.

Doesn't really fit into my collection so I'm accepting offers or good trades for it.  Value?  No idea, but everyone I have spoken with seems to think they are rather rare.  Mainboard has a date stamp of 04 on it, so that's about the time these were made.  It's certainly a unique conversation piece (and very playable).

Includes the system, two controllers, A/V cable, power supply, paperwork, foam packing and box.  It was new when I bought it and it has only been taken out for inspection and to test it.  If you need anymore pics PM me and I'll email them to you.

More info on this (not my webpage):  http://gamesx.com/wiki/doku.php?id=counterfeit_snes

Trades?  Anything mint Nintendo (NES through Wii), Dreamcast, GBA, etc.  Would love to have a nice Sega Saturn system as well.

Yeah, I made a thread in the Price Check forum and no one really knew value there either. Unfortunately though, I already have most everything in your F/S thread.

That's a surprisingly nice bootleg. What was the giveaway?

I agree. Except for the back of box unpunched, the lettering on the controllers and the tag on system with no serial I wouldn't have known either...

There actually is a serial on the back of the system.  I'll take a pic of that as my one pic cropped it off.

And on the SNES 102 controller, that controller lettering is correct, isn't it?

The main giveaways was the "engrish" on the back of the box (front is almost perfect), then I confirmed when I saw the standard screws holding the system together and the motherboard sealed the deal.

Back when I bought it though (almost 10 years ago now), I never paid any of that a second thought.

I saw a system that looks just like the one you have here for offer, it did look faded on one side, the overall grey was also darker and the buttons did match the darker purple from this system. This mini Snes that I am talking about also had phillips screws, (by all these signs we would think it was a bootleg also) but when we opened it to clean it, it had original harware as the one you have pictured on your link as original. This makes me wonder if Nintendo really had a 3rd party helping out with production of the system, since the Mini was meant to be more accessible pricewise.... how could they sell it at a lower price? Only by cutting costs...

I have no idea.  But the hardware itself runs a SNES game just fine.  I find it funny that this was seemingly made around 2004 (if I am reading the system board stamp correctly).

I have attached a few more pics from my other thread.

Still accepting offers or trades on this unit. There is a discussion in the price check forum on it as well.
