This is one of my favorite games. If I have some time this morning/early afternoon, I'll try to get some participation points. It's been a while since I joined in the weekly tourney fun

Actually I just totally destroyed that score today.   Although admittedly, it was no fun in doing so.  The playthrough took 2 and a 1/2 hours, and I usually go through this game in 20-25 minutes.  I'll sit on it until tomorrow afternoon, let the suspense build up a little

Wow.  2.5 hours is insane.  My playthrough took a max of 35 minutes, which tells me you did a shit ton of grinding.

You get 500 seconds per life.

If you drain the timer on every level and every Launchpad attempt that is only 5 levels plus 4 replays post Launchpad for 4500 seconds in a no death game.
that gets you to and hour and 15 minutes.

if there are 9 lives beyond your baseline that would be the only way to hit an actual 2.5 hours of in game time.

But but yeah, that is a long damn game of Ducktales.

There's a LOT of hidden 1ups in this game, including 2 in the Amazon.  Add those up and multiply x2 for all the stages that feature Launchpad (I.E. every stage except Transylvania) and you get quite the stockpile of lives.  Also, you get 600 seconds per life on the Moon, the most lucrative stage to farm diamonds.  Plus, I also got really bored and took a few pause breaks =P

Basically what I did was played through Transylvania, The Amazon, and The Himelayas first.  I stocked up as many lives as possible (7 from those three w/ Launchpad abuse) which brought me up to a 9 ife count (10 total since the game counts 0).  Next I went to The Moon, abused launchpad again and got the extra life both times, then I began the time consuming prossess of milking the aliens.  I did this until I was down to a 2 life count (3 lives, I wanted a spare in case I f***ed up, which I almost did btw on the moon rat boss).  After that, I went to The Amazon, got 2 more lives there thanks to Launchpad again, and proceeded to milk that stage for 3 lives, which brought me down to the 1 count (2 lives left).  After that, I flew through Transylvania, trounced Dracula Duck, and beat the game.  Yes, it takes a long ass time to milk this game for all its worth, and I didn't even bother with the time up glitch because it's just too risky.

I doubt I'll ever play this game for score again.  I love this game, it's a childhood favorite, but going for score threw all the enjoyment I get from it out the window.

That was pretty much my strategy, takes a ridiculously long time to go through the game with all the farming on the moon. Adding the time glitch to the lot and something like 17 million sounds possible.

But I don't have the time to do it, unfortunately. Waiting to see what you came up with

Man this was one of my original 8 games i owned as a kid.  So much nastalgia, i havnt played this game in 20 years!  also as a kid i never played on anything other than easy!!  i guess i have gotten a lot better with age (or nerdier) but amazing how all the hidden items came back to me.  Definetely wont be high scoring but this was a ton of fun!

This is about all I'm going to be able to muster dealing with this:

I'm hoping this will be healed up enough by thursday.

A dry ice burn if you can believe that. It was in contact with my hand for a mere 11 seconds.

I'm not blowing this lid off this place with my score by any means, but this is pretty good for only getting through the game twice this week.

I could have grinded out quite a bit more points but I ran out of time on this run today.

$1.392M + $178k = $1,570,000

Played about 20 minutes or so for 5 nights this week. I've seen a few scores and it looks like I will be near the bottom for this one, but that's alright. Could have looked up videos to see how to get a much higher score pretty easily, but never felt like sitting through one. Pretty fun game.

Hope you heal up soon guts.

I took care of my lives this time and almost maxed. I scrambled to get this posted in time.  I dont' think I'll ever have a contest week like this again...

Also, Guts, I hope your hand heals soon too.  We need you to be a force every week!

Thanks guys! I've always had fun playing these contests but I never thought in a million years I'd actually take first in a week. I knew I had room to improve my score, and thought I could get my best finish, but didn't think it would be like this. Its kind of humbling but I'll remember this for a while.

Maybe this is the start of a big run for you where you will be a force in the second half?
