...it sure would be nice if someone came out with some sort of collection tool to log all of my games and what-not in to help me with listing them on this site. Anyone else think this is a good idea? Maybe it's just me...

Sorry Dain, I'm just bored.

If they think it's a long wait for the collection tool, they should've waited for your damn list! How many years was that? "Oh, it's almost done..." Three years later

"It's always amazing to me how some of the most worthless games from a gaming perspective tend to fetch outrageous amounts of money. But then again, it could be said that something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. I'm curious if the high bidder of the $873.04 Stadium Events (cart-only) realizes that it's nowhere nearly as rare as about 20+ games I can think of that sell for 1/10th that amount?  At any rate, I wanted to draw attention to this trend: if people say it's rare, it must be true, and therefore it must be had at any price."

Yep, stuff like this just takes time. People always want it sooner than later but the work that goes into it is incredible. Dain worked on NA for like 6-7 years before it finally went live. Just be patient boys, the barn isn't on fire.

Laugh it up, ya ratt bastiches!

Seriously though, the core engine of the site had to be rebuilt in order to dynamically handle "tracking" of unlimited variations, effectively. Anyone familiar with relational database design can imagine the tedious nature of doing this, especially when you account for every little detail for every type of item. The good news is that the database design is done (the hard part), and most of the coding. The part that makes my skin crawl is the conversion of the old data design to the new design -- this will require taking the site down for a few hours or a day at most (I have to run multiple conversion scripts and some of them take a while).

This would have been done by now, but I have a work deadline that ends this coming Friday that has zapped any remaining energy that I'd normally put towards finishing this up. Won't be too much longer.

Really Dain, just take your time man. I just wanted to mess with you a bit. It had been a while since a topic was made to bust your balls about it.
