If I have an Everdrive n8 is there a reason to get a FDS with an AVS or is the emulation spot on?

Thanks!

If you get a real Everdrive it shouldn't be a problem. If you get a knockoff Everdrive, you'll have issues.

Comes straight from krikzz.com so it should be legit.

I am thinking of getting the same thing soon. Love my AVS. A legit Everdrive seems like the logical next step. Update us on how it works with the FDS games when you get it.

I'm not sure if you're asking, tbone3969, about the Everdrive on the AVS, but I can safely say FDS roms (patched roms included) run perfectly on the Everdrive on the Famicom. FDS always has the best versions of any given game.

Rather than getting the full FDS, you could get the RAM adapter and a FDSStick. I have an everdrive, but still like the novelty of the extra nintendo gadgetry. It loads the disks from the stick like the drive would, so it plays and sounds 100% accurate.

Yeah, that's what I was searching for:

Is the emulation of the FDS 100% accurate?  If so I can skip buying a RAM adapter and FDSstick.

Works pretty much the same way, with super quick loading from both options. I just know that there isn't any audio emulation going on with the stick, whereas the everdrive does fpga wizardry in place of the adapter. To my ears, I can't really tell a lot of differences in how they sound. But, I haven't owned the famicom stuff for nearly long enough to hear too many differences.

I ended up snagging a RAM adapter from Ebay on the cheap and a FDSstick.

Just need to get an AVS next year when they make more.

The audio emulation of the FDS in the EverDrive N8 leaves a great deal to be desired. Best stick with the real FDS adapter and an FDSStick.
