So after checking out Matt's (BeaglePuss's) Post about dated Prototypes that appear to be from after the actual release date it reminded me of a question I was going to ask awhile ago. On my NBA *Super* Allstar Challenge SNES prototype when it was purchased by me it arrived to the nolans with one of the stickers missing off of the second eprom (thanks guys for covering it up for me) but on the first eprom it says
"SUPER
NBA
11-25-TO or 11-25-T0
romØ"

here is a picture showing it

My question is does anyone know what the T0 or TO stands for? its really has me scratching my head because I can't find any information on it?

Terrell Owens?

Seriously though, just a guess but there's a good chance it's the initials of the person that wrote it.

Are you sure it isn't "90" as in 1990?

I highly doubt it considering the game was released in dec of 1992 and looks pretty much the same as the released version...?

Well, barring that, the only other thing it could be is a ROM chip labeling scheme, and "T0" is the first ROM chip. Production games are done like this, for instance this PCB for Final Fantasy III:

Note how the ROM chips are labeled "P1", "P2", and P3". On some games, they start the lablelling at 0 rather than 1.

exactly and thats why their is romØ on the eprom in question but that still doesn't explain the T0 ?

Um, that was my explanation for the T0.

why would they write chip one twice on the same eprom then?
T0 first and then romØ right after it... seems kind of counter productive?
T0= chip one
romØ = chip one ?

I can understand what your saying with the Final fantasy board you showed. P1 probably equals something along the line of Part 1 and P2 probably equals something along the line of Part 2 but the 10-26-T0 seems kind of odd to me to be used as a eprom numbering scheme for part one or two if it is already written directly underneath...?

has anyone else ran across a prototype where it has T0 or TO where the date should be and even better was it a game that wasn't produced during or directly after 1990?
