So the image resources for this game are incredibly, incredibly limited. I did my best with what I could find.

This looks awesome! Thanks!

I've always wanted an English version of this SNES label for a repro:

Hmm... you mean you want a SNES label to look specifically like that S.Famicom label? I'll see what I can do. If you can find me some of the resources from that label, it'd make it a lot easier. I'll likely end up making a label for that game, but I'm unsure if I can find the images to mimic its S.Famicom label.

Official art Densetsu variant.

Still taking requests. Planning on doing DBZ Super Butouden 1 - 3 next. I may do custom and official variants for them as well. Final Fantasy games are still coming, but I haven't decided on a design for them yet.

What do you guys think of this label?

I'd do the rest of the series (SB 2 and SB3) in the same style, but with different characters.

Any opinions on how I could make it better?

I like the character coming out of it. I've always thought there was too much negative space and having the character pop out helps. Have you tried moving that grey person-thing into the black next to the grey logo? I'm curious how he would look standing outside the background image, like a second logo of sorts.

By the way, I know nothing of DragonBall Z so my advise is based purely on what I think might look good.

I've made 2 labels for Der Langresser but they aren't in the same style as the japanese label..

If you have any GBA signage or kiosk I would be interested. Please send me a PM because I'm only here about once a month now but I'm still VERY interested in large system signage or small playable kiosks related to the GBA.

I appreciate the comment. The label actually depicts a fairly iconic scenario from the series.

The character in the back is supposed to look like he is in the frame (you can see part of his reflection in the water.)
I brought Goku out of the frame to make him "pop" a little more. It's a theme I plan to continue for the sequel labels.

I see, and to continue a trend of critiquing game labels when I have no clue of the game, I really like the first Der Langrisser label. That picture just tugs at the heartstrings somehow.

I say we all need to go back to the classic style and make text labels for our games like the early 2600.

So I've "finished" DBZ Super Butouden 1 & 2. Let me know what you think. I appreciate the feedback. Butouden 3 will follow soon.

EDIT: Finished Super Butouden 3

Going to bed now. Would really appreciate some objective thoughts. Sometimes it's hard to see faults in things you create on your own.

Just as a heads up, for anyone that might be interested, I'm now partnering up with Nyquest, who is soon to be opening a website that prints custom labels, boxes and posters for retro games. See his thread here.

This means two things:

- First, my labels will no longer be open source, unfortunately.

- Second, you will soon be able to purchase high-quality prints of my labels for your repro carts!

I will still be taking requests for games you'd like to see labels made for, so feel free to let me know if there's any games you'd like to see labels made for in the future!

Excellent decision in my opinion. You both make great labels so it's only logical to take it to the next step and actually get those labels on carts. you have my support, and soon some of my money as well.

Sadly Nyquest's thread was locked. He must have been offering labels for released games too :/

I love your work here, though! Would love to get my hands on a Tales of Phantasia label. Am curious to see your Seiken Densetsu 3/Som 2 labels and your work on Final Fantasy IV-VI, which I didn't see in the opening post.

It is not locked, and those labels are custom not a recreated copy of the originals.

Thanks for the encouragement, guys. I'm gonna try and kick things up a notch. I'll be designing some boxes as well.

http://nintendoage.com/forum/mess... is the other thread in question and it's not locked.

There was some confusion at first  but all is good now. Skip to page 2.

You're the one with a broken Captain America right? You should get a new shell for it also. Piko sells them. I painted one blue for a similar game.

Again, the resources for this game were very limited. I think it came out fairly decent, though. That map logo needed so major cleaning.

My mistake about earlier. There was a lot of negativity at first in that thread and I misread the situation. Sorry!

I'm so glad that you and Nyquest is still doing this, though, and that Der Langrisser label is killer. You have some serious skills. I bet you'd be able to make mind-blowing banner sigs, too.
