There have been some "recommend me music" threads lately, and I thought that if people consistenly posted their current tunes, everyone could discover some new shizz.

You're sitting in front of the computer, so what songs are you rockin' out to? Currently I'm listening to Mac Lethal's "11:11" album. Before that Misfits "Static Age".

How about you?

If you like electronic/ambient music, I recommend Boards of Canada.

I'm mainly into Jazz Master these days:

Charles Mingus - Pithecanthropus Erectus

Ornette Coleman - The Shape of Jazz to Come

Sonny Rollins - The Freedom Suite

I would recommend any of these albums to any jazz lover, or any who'd like to get initiated to the 50's-60's jazz performers.

My take on Modest Mouse: any album from Moon & Antarctica and back is incredible. The last two were.....eh. Once they signed with Sony and everyone was like "yeah! Modest Mouse! Float On RULES!" I've kinda lost interest.

Also, has anyone heard of Porcupine Tree? They are suitable for anyone. Their songs take on so many different syles it's mind blowing.

Couldn't agree more. The Moon & Antarctica is a brilliant album. For me its always been The Lonesome Crowded West though.

Radiohead - OK Computer
Neutral Milk Hotel - In The Aeroplane Over The Sea
Neil Young - Live at Massey Hall 1971
Aquabats - The Fury of the Aquabats!
Bob Dylan - Blood on the Tracks
Badly Drawn Boy - The Hour of Bewilderbeast
The Pixies - The 'B' Sides
The Sea and Cake - Oui
Tortoise - Standards

...all at the moment in heavy rotation.
